Queen Máxima brought her signature flair to a working engagement in the Netherlands on Thursday, stepping out in an autumn-ready printed dress for a symposium focused on the future of health care.
The Dutch royal visited Nieuwegein on September 10 to attend a symposium organized by the national Care Evaluation and Appropriate Use program, known as ZE&GG.
The gathering highlighted the “Less is More” movement and its efforts to encourage appropriate care and reduce treatments or practices that offer patients little or no added value.
© NL BeeldFor the daytime engagement, Máxima opted for a silky brown midi dress decorated with an abstract black-and-white print. The relaxed design featured long sleeves, a collared neckline and a flowing skirt that fell below the knee.
The 55-year-old Queen gave the otherwise fluid silhouette considerably more structure with a wide black belt. Its oversized sculptural gold buckle immediately became the focal point of the look, drawing attention to her waist and adding a polished metallic accent.
© NL BeeldShe coordinated the darker details of the dress with navy pointed-toe pumps and a matching envelope-style clutch. Gold hoop earrings complemented the buckle, while Máxima stacked sparkling bracelets on her wrist and wore several rings for an extra dose of royal glamour.
Her beauty look remained characteristically effortless. Máxima wore her blonde hair down in a smooth, side-parted style, while keeping her makeup natural and luminous for the daytime appearance.

The Queen wasn’t simply an observer during Thursday’s program. According to the Dutch Royal House’s official social media account, she visited a “Vraag-maar-raak” market, where she spoke with health care professionals about initiatives designed to promote more appropriate care.

It has also been a busy week for the royal. Máxima’s appearance in Nieuwegein came amid a packed September schedule for the Dutch royal family and just one day after she joined members of Europe’s royal families in Oslo for the funeral ceremonies for King Harald V.
