Rosie O’Donnell can’t get enough of her grandson. Over the past weeks, she’s shared frequent updates about Anthony, her newborn grandson, and how it feels to see her 26-year-old son Blake as a parent.
O’Donnell has been keeping her followers updated with her Instagram posts, sharing many adorable photos of Anthony. Her most recent post shows Anthony lying in bed, looking up at the camera with a smile on his face.
The baby has reddish hair and is wearing a cute onesie. “My beautiful grandson Anthony,” she captioned the post.
In a previous post, she showed Anthony receiving a bath from his dad. “Overjoyed with the baby boy,” she wrote in the post’s caption, thrilled at every stage of Anthony’s development.
O’Donnell has a new show and has been promoting it with different outlets. She was featured on the cover story of PEOPLE, opening up about the birth of Anthony, which took place in March.
“Watching my 26-year-old son hold his baby is the most indescribable joy that I’ve ever experienced in my life,” she said.
Further on in the interview, she opened up about how special it is to feel her kids wanting her to be a part of their lives, something that she didn’t share with her parents. “I want to be here for all of it, you know. I really do. I’m very stunned and surprised all the time by the fact that children need their parents through their whole life,” she said. “And when you were robbed of that, you don’t know that. I kind of love seeing the fact that my kids still need me.”

Over the past year, O’Donnell has been living abroad. Still, the birth of her grandson is a reminder of how much she misses her family. “My son said, ‘Mommy, I want you to move back. I want you to be around my baby. I want you to be around us,” she recalled.
“That really hit home because I understand and, you know, the joy that I feel being around him and this newborn… Again, I don’t have the words for it. I get so much fulfillment watching him parent this child that he adores [and] adores him right back. It’s an amazing feeling. Something I never really anticipated.”
