Salma Hayek is embracing every stage of ageing – and doing so in the most elegant way.
The award-winning actress has been inundated with compliments after stepping out at the 2026 Breakthrough Prize in California last week, embracing her grays effortlessly.
The actress wore her hair up in an elegant chignon with a sweeping side parting, allowing for her silver strands to take center stage.
Whether she intended to or not, Salma certainly made a statement – and her fans couldn’t have loved it more. After sharing pictures of her look on social media, comments included: “I love this touch of gray, gorgeous. Please don’t cover it up,” and “Love this gray on you.” A third fan wrote: “These gray hairs look good on you without exception. Very nice.”
It wasn’t just Salma’s hair, but her entire look that turned heads. The 59-year-old wore a figure-hugging Gucci gown embellished with sequins and a ruffled neckline, which featured a subtle train. She completed her outfit with diamond drop earrings and a matching ring. By her side was her husband, François-Henri Pinault, whom she married on Valentine’s Day 2009.
Salma has been incredibly open about embracing her natural beauty in past interviews. “I look better with healthy hair that’s white,” she told Allure.
The star only dyes her hair for work and previously opened up about her natural hair color in an interview with the New York Times, admitting she prefers to keep it natural when she can.
She said: “It’s my natural colour, and it’s my natural white hairs. One of the reasons I don’t dye my hair is because I don’t have the patience to sit through it. “I don’t want to spend what’s left of my youth pretending I’m younger and then not enjoying life.” Salma continued: “My hair is curly and wild when I’m not working. I use Nuance hair oil to take down the frizz.”
Expanding on the subject during an interview with Holmes Place, Salma added: “I don’t dye [my hair] because I am curious to see how I am going to look with this. I am sure in the next movie they will say sorry you will have to dye it but I am enjoying watching them come in.” The star added that she has the same attitude when it comes to having any cosmetic procedures.
She said: “I don’t have any Botox. Maybe later I will change my mind but for now, I am comfortable being fifty. I am comfortable in my own skin.”
