Sarah Ferguson is reportedly going through one of the most challenging moments in her life. The former Duchess of York is said to be “practically without a permanent home” after losing access to Royal Lodge, the residence where she lived for years with her ex-husband, Prince Andrew.

Since the Jeffrey Epstein scandal resurfaced and left her ex-husband under the eye of the British police, Ferguson has maintained a low profile, staying away from public life and distancing herself from social circles. But her situation has reportedly become more complicated due to her not having a permanent residence.

Reports claim that, for a time, she was able to stay in luxury retreats in Ireland and Switzerland while relying on the hospitality of her friends. However, that network of support is said to have weakened following Andrew’s arrest on February 19th, on the morning of his 66th birthday.

Leaving the Royal Lodge appears to have been a major turning point for Ferguson. The property had been her home for decades, even after her 1996 divorce from Prince Andrew. Since they were asked to leave earlier this year, Ferguson has yet to find a permanent home.

New York has long been one of Ferguson’s regular destinations when traveling to the United States, with her staying with friends and benefactors during her visits.

Page Six reports that she also spent time with Priscilla Presley, the former wife of Elvis Presley, who has historically welcomed Ferguson during her trips to the U.S.

The situation now appears to have changed significantly.

Following the latest release of the Epstein files, several acquaintances are reportedly distancing themselves from Ferguson. “Everyone tells her it’s not a good time,” said a source.

The insider adds that while many people still like Ferguson, they don’t want to risk being associated with her due to how Epstein is seen on a global scale.

The pressure extends to her daughters

The renewed attention around the Epstein case has also affected Ferguson’s daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, who have tried to maintain a low profile amid increasing scrutiny.

After their father lost his royal title, the sisters are reportedly among the only members of the immediate family that are still connected to the royal institution.

Despite their efforts to distance themselves, the situation has already had consequences. According to The Mail on Sunday, Buckingham Palace has decided that the princesses will not attend Royal Ascot this year, an event they traditionally attended, especially since it was a favorite of their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

The decision reportedly includes their absence from both the Royal Enclosure and the traditional carriage procession.

Sources say the move took them by surprise and may be part of a broader strategy to gradually remove them from royal public life.
