Family, friends and former Storage Wars co-stars have gathered to celebrate the life of Darrell Sheets, two months after the beloved reality television star’s death.

Darrell, who appeared on the hit A&E series for more than a decade, died on April 22 at the age of 67 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. His death was later ruled a suicide.

This week, loved ones came together in Huntington Beach, California, for a moving celebration of life honouring the fan favourite.

“We celebrated you”

Darrell’s son, Brandon Sheets, shared a heartfelt video from the memorial on Instagram, offering fans a glimpse inside the emotional gathering.

The footage showed rows of chairs inside the venue alongside tables filled with photographs, memorabilia and keepsakes celebrating Darrell’s life and television career.

Alongside the video, Brandon wrote: “‘Do It For Darrell.’ “We celebrated you and said our goodbyes yesterday… I never wanted to do this.”

He went on to thank his wife, Melissa, and family friend Kimber Wuerfel for organising the service. “I’m grateful that my wife… helped decorate and plan this. I would’ve been lost and not known what to do without them.”

Describing the day as “an emotional roller coaster,” Brandon also thanked those who attended and paid tribute to his father.

“I just hope and pray that everyone enjoyed their time yesterday as we all let go and said our goodbyes.”

A touching farewell

Darrell’s former wife, Kimber Wuerfel, also shared moments from the celebration on social media, including the release of 67 white doves in honour of the late reality star’s life.

According to Kimber, the symbolic tribute was carried out by Darrell’s grandchildren, siblings and other close family members.

Several of Darrell’s former Storage Wars castmates were also in attendance. Dave Hester shared photos from the gathering, writing that it had been an “honor” to celebrate Darrell’s life.

Meanwhile, René Nezhoda posted images of the memorabilia displayed throughout the venue alongside a simple message: “Darrell, we love you and you are missed.”

A fan favourite

Known to millions of viewers as “The Gambler,” Darrell became one of Storage Wars’ breakout stars when the series premiered in 2010.

He remained a familiar face on the show until departing following season 15 in 2023.

After leaving television, Darrell opened an antique store in Arizona, Havasu Show Me Your Junk, where he continued sharing his passion for collectibles with fans.

His emotional celebration of life served as a poignant reminder of the lasting impact he had on those closest to him, as well as the loyal viewers who followed his journey over the years.
