In just a few days, the world will witness what has become one of the most talked-about celebrity weddings. Well, they’ll witness what the couple chooses to share – because things are sure to be kept private. As we get closer to July 3, new details about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding are starting to paint a picture of what will go down inside their rumored venue, Madison Square Garden.
While one of the first things couples figure out is their registry, with weddings being the perfect reason to collect gifts, according to Page Six, the couple has made one thing crystal clear to guests: don’t bring presents.
Kansas City Chiefs star George Kittle revealed that Swift and Kelce explicitly requested no wedding gifts, though he admitted he may ignore that rule. “They said absolutely no gifts,” Kittle told Extra TV, before joking that he may still surprise Kelce with an unusual present. “I was thinking, Travis, for some reason, likes old coins, so I might get him an old coin,” he said. “Sounds expensive, too.”
The no-gift policy comes as wedding buzz around the couple points to an elaborate ceremony at Madison Square Garden in New York City. TMZ reported that permits were allegedly filed with New York City to close streets surrounding the iconic venue from July 2 through midday July 4, adding more evidence.
Event planners reportedly requested space for tents, canopies, and production trucks, while nearby businesses have already expressed concern about road closures, heavy security, and inevitable crowds.
TMZ also says they’ve learned that members of the Kansas City Chiefs have already booked rooms in Times Square at the Marriott Marquee during that time period.
NYC’s mayor, Zohran Mamdani, seemingly confirmed the timeline at a press conference. “We are used to big events, and we are incredibly excited for [the FIFA World Cup],” Mamdani said. “We know it coincides with the Knicks’ Finals run. We know it coincides with July 4, America 250, Taylor Swift’s wedding—all happening at the same time—and we are so excited to welcome the world here.”
Even with countless reports swirling, one thing seems certain: Swift and Kelce are determined to keep the most meaningful details private. As one source reportedly put it, “Everyone’s been sworn to secrecy.”
Meanwhile, both bride and groom appear to be spending their final days as fiancés surrounded by close friends.
Kelce has reportedly been embracing full bachelor-party mode. Over the weekend, the NFL star was spotted bouncing between Southern California hotspots, including a night at the exclusive Bird Streets Club in West Hollywood and a Chris Lake concert, where he even jumped on stage and fired a bubble gun into the crowd.
The celebrations didn’t stop there. TMZ also captured Kelce in San Diego alongside his brother Jason Kelce and a group of friends after attending a comedy show by Dave Chappelle. The group later boarded a party bus, further cementing speculation that Kelce’s bachelor festivities are well underway.
As for Swift, it’s been all eyes on her Rhode Island mansion, where a weekend gathering of close friends sparked widespread speculation about bachelorette celebrations of her own.
Fireworks seen near the property only intensified rumors that pre-wedding festivities were happening behind closed doors.
But while much of the focus has been on who will attend, growing attention is also being paid to who seemingly won’t. According to reports, Miles Teller and his wife, Keleigh Sperry, are not expected to attend, despite once being part of Swift’s inner circle.
Also notably absent from reported attendee lists is Karlie Kloss, whose once-close friendship with Swift has long been the subject of public fascination after the two drifted apart years ago.
And then there’s Blake Lively. For years, Lively was considered one of Swift’s closest celebrity confidantes, but recent speculation surrounding fallout tied to Lively’s legal drama with Justin Baldoni has left people convinced she won’t be in attendance.
