Fans have been waiting with bated breath for the return of Paramount’s crime thriller following the huge season one cliffhanger.

The first series, which aired in January last year, starred Eve Myles (The Guest, Gone) as DCI Jeanette Kilburn, who led an investigation into the murders of young male asylum seekers in Bristol. After enlisting the help of the prime suspect’s psychotherapist, Dr. Sophia Craven, Jeanette uncovered a horrifying, dark web of sinister secrets.

Season one concluded with the shocking revelation of Dr Sophia Craven’s true identity, a twist further complicated by her romantic connection with Jeanette, who finds herself in bed with the psychologist following the collapse of her marriage.

In season two, DCI Jeanette’s investigation takes a shocking new turn when a mummified body discovered in a church wall and a body in a freezer reveal a chilling connection. 

The synopsis continues: “As Jeanette digs deeper, Dr. Sophia Craven begins to suspect Victoria Burkeman, her mysterious and unstable former patient, could be responsible. With the case growing darker, Sophia suspects Victoria is more familiar than she thought, and Jeanette must face the terrifying truth: the killer may be closer than she ever imagined.”

Season two of The Crow Girl premieres on 20 July on Paramount+ UK & Ireland, and on 8 September on Acorn TV in the U.S. and Canada,
