It’s no secret that Victoria Beckham loves fashion – and it seems her passion has been passed down to her 14-year-old daughter. In a new interview with The Sunday Times Style, the fashion designer, 52, discussed her new collaboration with the American fashion label, Gap.
Though now an online-only retailer in the UK, Gap used to have physical stores – and Lady Beckham was a fan. “I remember going to Gap with my mum and sister and being so excited by it,” she told the magazine. “Growing up, it was only ever the high street. I wasn’t in a position to wear designer clothes.”
Of her daughter’s shopping habits, Victoria told Style: “She loves nothing more than shopping on the high street. She’s going to love the Gap collection when she gets her hands on it.” Though Harper is the only daughter of one of the world’s wealthiest couples, it appears she isn’t averse to interspersing her designer pieces (or the ones she borrows from mum Victoria) with more affordable items.
Victoria and Harper’s shared interest
According to The Guardian, the star formerly known as Posh Spice owns around 100 iterations of Hermès’ iconic ‘Birkin’ bag, with her collection estimated to be worth over £1 million. Despite her extensive collection, the ‘Wannabe’ singer draws the line at sharing her beloved bags with her lookalike daughter.
In a 2024 interview with Vogue, the fashion mogul said: “I’m not too precious about [my wardrobe] unless it’s Hermès. When Harper eyes up those handbags [I say]: ‘Not just yet.’ I love my clothes, I look after my clothes, and they are there to be enjoyed.”
That said, when Harper does want to borrow items from Victoria’s wardrobe, the mother-of-four’s heart is warmed by the compliment. “If one of the young ones wants to borrow my clothes, whether it’s Harper or one of the boys’ girlfriends, that’s flattery because they are significantly younger than me,” she said.
Will Harper follow in Victoria’s footsteps?
It remains to be seen whether Harper will go into fashion design like her mother. However, in 2017, Harper Beckham’s name was officially registered as a trademark by her parents, protecting her name for commercial use.
In March 2026, it was reported that Harper was set to become the next Kylie Jenner with her own beauty line. The teen has named it HIKU by Harper, and was joined on set by her parents in London in March, according to The Sun.
It seems it has long been Harper’s dream to become an entrepreneur like her mother. In November 2024, the 14-year-old joined Victoria at an event in New York to promote her mother’s new perfume Reverie, the French word for ‘dream’.
Guests were invited to write their dream on a card, with Harper penning: “Create an amazing brand when I’m older”.
