William Shatner, 95, and rarely-seen ex-wife Elizabeth, 67, rekindle romance in loved-up new photos

William and Elizabeth attended the world premiere of The Sixty Year Mission: How Star Trek Changed Television And The World, and the pair looked smitten with each other, wrapping their arms around each other as they smiled for the cameras.

For their big night out, William wore a classic white shirt with charcoal grey luxe sports pants and white sneakers, while Elizabeth, a photographer, looked gorgeous in a pin-striped square-neck tunic and matching wide-leg pants.

The two filed for divorce in 2019, but in 2024 William confirmed they were “effectively remarried,” with Elizabeth seen wearing her diamond ring again. 

The rekindled romance came about as William faced a stage-four malignant melanoma diagnosis in 2023; at the same time his youngest daughter, Melanie, 62, was fighting stage-four breast cancer. 

Both publicly confirmed their remission in July 2026.

William is also a proud father to daughters, Leslie and Lisabeth; he welcomed all three with his first wife Gloria Rand. He was also married to actress Marcy Lafferty between 1973 and 1996, and Nerine Kidd, whom he married in 1997 but who died in 1999.

Star Trek, the original series, ran for nearly three years between 1966 and 1969, sparking 13 feature films and 12 spin-off series. 

The show helped William build a legendary career and lifelong friendships, and he told HELLO! that “the magic of Star Trek has never left me.”

“At its best, Star Trek is a magical way of telling a story, and some of the best Star Treks are really terrific. I look back proudly on that,” he shared.

Environmentalism is a central theme in Star Trek, and William has dedicated his life to the survival of the planet, with the hopes of continuing his work by partnering with the Prince of Wales and his Earthshot Prize, which supports solutions to repair our planet.

“I admire the work he’s doing and I just wish more people would do it,” William told HELLO!, adding that although he has never reached out to the Prince, “or him to me”, it was something he would consider.

In 2021, William joined a highly controversial space flight orchestrated by the billionaire Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. Prince William publicly criticised the decision, calling on billionaires to help “repair this planet, not trying to find the next place to go and live”.

For William, who was 90 at the time and the oldest man to go to space, it was a “life-changing experience” that filled him with “the strongest feelings of guilt I have ever encountered,” and he disagrees with the Prince, believing that space exploration can help us to find ways to remove pollution from Earth.
