Adriana Lima’s daughter Valentina addresses negative comparisons to her famous mom as she pursues modeling career

Growing up as the daughter of one of fashion’s most recognizable supermodels comes with high expectations, and Valentina Lima is opening up about what that has been like as she begins carving out a path of her own.

The 16-year-old recently shared a candid TikTok revealing some of the comments she has received online while announcing an exciting new career milestone.

“Me because people called me wasted genes because I don’t look like my mom who’s a VS supermodel but I’m going to a modeling casting in 4 days!” she wrote over the video, referring to Adriana Lima’s legendary career as a Victoria’s Secret Angel.

The post quickly resonated with fans, many of whom rallied behind Valentina. While some acknowledged the inevitable comparisons to her famous mother, many praised her beauty and encouraged her to pursue modeling on her own terms.

The video also marked one of the clearest indications yet that Valentina is interested in following a similar career path. Although she has occasionally appeared alongside her mother at public events, she has largely stayed out of the fashion spotlight until recently.

The aspiring model has increasingly referenced Adriana’s legacy across her social media in recent weeks.

Earlier this month, she shared a playful TikTok giving her mom a Gen Z-inspired makeover, dressing the Brazilian supermodel in a youthful outfit while recreating her hairstyle and makeup before unveiling the transformation.

She also joined the viral “If I could be anybody, dead or alive” TikTok trend, revealing that her answer would be “my mother in the 2000s.”

The video then transitioned into clips of Adriana Lima during the height of her modeling career, including footage from her iconic Victoria’s Secret years, highlighting the admiration Valentina has for one of fashion’s most celebrated eras.

Rather than distancing herself from the comparisons, Valentina appears to be embracing her mother’s legacy while making it clear she hopes to build a career of her own.
