Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter, Zahara, was part of Spelman College in Atlanta’s graduating class of 2026, walking up to receive her diploma on May 17. Zahara graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and was listed as “Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt” on the commencement program; however, she was called to the stage as “Zahara Marley Jolie,” effectively confirming what was widely known, that she had dropped her father’s last name.

Christy Turlington and Ed Burns’ daughter, Grace, graduated from New York University Gallatin School of Individualized Study on May 15, too. “What a week – and what a milestone. As a mother and as a parent, this moment feels profound,” Christy penned on Instagram.

“So many hopes and dreams for my firstborn are unfolding far sooner than I ever imagined. There’s a saying: educate a girl and you educate a nation. That’s a powerful responsibility. But if anyone is ready to carry it, it’s my daughter, alongside her friends and classmates who are already becoming the change they want to see in the world. Congratulations to all the graduates, and especially to mine.”

Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe reunited on May 14 to celebrate their son, Deacon Phillippe, who graduated from New York University’s prestigious Tisch School of the Arts, where he majored in music.

“After four years of hard work, long days, endless papers and classes, working with the greatest teachers and making new friends… My wonderful son graduated from @nyutisch!” the Legally Blonde star wrote on Instagram. “I’m so proud of you @deaconphillippe!”

Kate Hudson’s son, Ryder Robinson, also graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts on May 14 with a degree in Film and Television Production. He was surrounded by his extended and blended family, including his mom and her fiancé, Danny Fujikawa, his dad Chris Robinson and his wife Camille Johnson, his grandparents Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, his siblings Bingham and Rani, plus Bing’s dad Matt Bellamy.

Actor and comedian Richard Kind’s daughter, Skyler, graduated from American University in Washington, D.C., on May 9., surrounded by her dad, mom Dana Stanley, and her siblings Max and Samantha. “The Kind family celebrating Sky’s graduation,” Richard wrote on Instagram after the commencement ceremony.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s daughter, Apple, graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, on May 8, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Law, History, and Society, although she now plans to focus on acting instead of going to law school. Apple shared several photos of her and her friends getting ready for their graduation, writing on Instagram: “A bittersweet moment. How lucky we are to have these memories,” with Gwyneth commenting: “SO proud!!”
