“It was right around the time my boys were born, and we kind of were set up in L.A. and not enjoying it, you know?” he explained. “Like, nothing was shooting there. We were filming kind of everywhere else.”
He then revealed that his home in Australia feels like a vacation. “You know when you come back from work, you wanna go on a holiday? Like, coming home for me, it feels like a holiday,” he said. “We have a big farm and horses and motorbikes and surf.”
“We lived about 20 minutes from the main sort of suburban areas in Melbourne, up in the hills. And the nearest neighbour was a kilometre or two away.”
Nowadays, Hemsworth and Pataky live in Byron Bay, Australia, with their kids, India, Sasha, and Tristan. In numerous interviews, the pair has opened up about their active lifestyle near the beach, where they practice their favorite sports and activities, among them, surfing, horseback riding, and motocross.
Hemsworth opens up about some of his sweetest tattoos
In that same chat, Hemsworth opened up about some of his tattoos, which were inspired by his daughter India.
“My Dr. Seuss tattoo… I used to read that book to her a lot, and my mom read it to me, ‘Oh, the Places You’ll Go’ and she just would draw that little character and loved it,” he shared. “And so I got that tattoo,” he said.
He shared that later, he wanted to remove the tattoo, but his daughter stopped him.
“A few years later, I was like, I’m kinda sick of it. So I started getting it taken off I did like one laser session, and then she came home one day, and she goes, ‘It’s rubbing off. What happened to it? It’s rubbing off,’ ” Hemsworth said. “She goes, ‘No. I love it.’ So, it’s now kind of half faded, you know, but it’s still there.”
He also revealed that he has various of her designs tattooed on her body, inspired by a tattoo session that took place in his home late at night. India walked out and sat with them, doodling some designs of her own. “[My tattoo artist] looked at me and goes, ‘I think [her drawings are] way cooler than anything we’re designing, and so I took a photo of that, and that’s that.”
