Chrisy Teigen’s children are going to have a lot of social media posts to ask about when they get older. Her eldest Luna, whom she shares with husband John Legend, is officially 10. On Monday, the eve before her big double-digit birthday, the cookbook author shared a post with some of her birth story. In the clip, Luna posed on Teigen’s bed, who emotionally said, “Goodbye, 9-year-old.” An eager Luna popped up and said, “Night night,” adding, “Last hug of 9.”
“Okay,” Teigen responded as Luna went in for a hug, with Teigen pretending to cry. Always one to make a joke, Teigen asked, “How come moms aren’t celebrated?”
Then she took it further, “This is when I pushed you out of my vagina hole.” Right when Luna heard where her mom was going, she got up, rolled her eyes, and walked off, adding, “Oh my God.”
Teigen responded, “Oh my God, and you ripped me.” Going back to that hospital room, the 40-year-old added. “And you ripped me all the way to my butthole.”
Luna, already used to her mom’s antics, walked out with a sassy, “Bye!”
Born Luna Simone Stephans, Tiegen and Legend welcomed her into the world in 2016. The former model has always been known for her candid and vulnerable relationship with the public.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, just a month after Luna was born, Tiegen got real about breastfeeding. “The feeding schedule surprised me a lot. If you kind of do the math, you’re kind of breastfeeding for 10 hours a day total,” she told the outlet. “It’s very loving and sweet, but it’s not easy. They just use you for your milk, and you just feel like you are just a cow all day.”
She also opened up about how she doesn’t know how single mothers do it. “Every time I look at (my daughter) Luna, I wonder, ‘How on earth does anybody do this alone?’ I have the utmost respect for mothers (and) single mothers,” she told ET.
“I have my mother who lives with us, I have John, and I have a nanny. I’m very outspoken about it, and when I see that I still have a difficult time, I just don’t know how anyone does it,” Teigen continued.
Tiegen and Legend also share Miles, Jack, Esti, and Wren.
Luna’s tattoo
With Luna being their firstborn, they experienced parenthood together for the first time. They both have Luna’s art tattooed on them, too.
Tiegen shared that it all started during a casual night at home when Luna was drawing on them. “Luna was drawing on us one night, and she was like, ‘I love this. This is the best butterfly I’ve ever drawn,’ and I was like, ‘I agree,’” she said on Ellen DeGeneres.
Then Luna moved on to Legend, sketching a bouquet on his arm. “He was like, ‘I’ll tattoo mine if you tattoo yours,’ and I was like, ‘Well, I don’t wanna say it, but yours looks a lot better than mine,’” Chrissy joked. “But we support the arts in our household, so…”
