Dua Lipa and Callum Turner have just said “I do”, and we are reeling over the beautiful image of the joyous couple outside Old Marylebone Town Hall.
The 30-year-old ‘Dance The Night’ hitmaker married English actor Callum, 36, in a surprisingly low-key, intimate ceremony, and we have been poring over pictures of the stunning pair ever since.
Dua’s wedding outfit
One of the most integral parts of any wedding is what the bride chooses to wear, and in keeping with her individual style ethos, the beautiful star chose to defy tradition by sporting a beautifully tailored suit, which was custom-made by Schiaparelli.
Although the expertly handcrafted number appeared almost blue in the golden May light, it was actually designed in a stark ivory shade. The blazer was a single-breasted cut that boasted a cinched waist detail, which gently flared to form a subtle peplum silhouette. Giving her look a gloriously unique spin, statement gold abstract-shaped buttons were a big part of the ensemble. Her skirt was pencil cut and featured an on-trend, modern asymmetric hem.
Dua accessorised to perfection, adding a bold, wide-brimmed hat by Stephen Jones, white gloves, white heels by Christian Louboutin, and a fabulous silver choker and stud earrings by Bvlgari. Looking suitably suave, groom Callum Turner opted for a more classic, arguably timeless style, in the form of a double-breasted suit in navy, by Ferragamo, and selected a matching shirt and tie in the same inky blue hue.
It’s clear to see that Dua has been inspired by the legendary Bianca Jagger, who famously wore an iconic white smoking jacket by Yves Saint Laurent, a satin skirt, and a resplendent hat when she married rocker Mick Jagger in 1971. Many have remarked that Dua’s look is a 2026 homage to the supermodel.
The Princess Diana nod
Although Dua’s wedding look is distinctly different from Princess Diana’s pastel blue suit she donned in 1997, as a fashion editor who covers royal style every day, I think that there are standout similarities.
Diana’s dress was made in an eggshell blue and was designed by another high-end brand, Versace. The former wife of King Charles stepped out at the Royal Brompton Hospital, where she met young cystic fibrosis sufferers.
This look generated huge interest at the time, as the suit commanded immediate attention and was a modern spin on corporate dressing at a time when office wear was deemed somewhat stuffy.
Diana put a feminine spin on the suit, in particular the blazer, which also featured gold statement buttons and had a single-breasted cut. Although the hem was admittedly higher than Dua’s wedding look, it was still form-fitting and gave a shapely contour. The mother of Prince William and Prince Harry also accessorised similarly – adding noticeable stud earrings and pointed-toe heels.
