Elizabeth Hurley welcomed the summer with a photo of herself lounging by the pool in a beach cover-up. The 60-year-old actress took to Instagram to mark the sunny spring Bank Holiday on Monday (Memorial Day in the U.S.) by posing in a rattan chair on the deck by a pool in a swimsuit covered by a bright floral wrap dress.
Hurley’s dress had a plunging V-neck, fluttery sleeves and an open skirt as the Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery star wore her hair in a side part with loose, beach-ready waves and sported a summery red pedicure.
Hurley – who informed her followers that there was “25 per cent off everything” at her Elizabeth Hurley Beach swimwear site – captioned the snap: “Summer is up!”
The Bedazzled star regularly posts pictures of herself in swimwear and has previously shared some top tips with her followers about feeling comfortable whilst posing in bikinis and swimsuits.
She wrote in a previous post: “Being photographed in a bikini can be scary so here’s my number one tip: LIE DOWN!
“Even in hideous overhead light, or with nasty hi-def camera phones (those were taken on a phone in direct sunlight) if you s-t-r-e-t-c-h out enough and wear sunglasses you’ll look fine. Thank me later.”
Hurley previously implored her followers to avoid “overhead sunlight” when taking bikini snaps.
She penned on the social media site: “The secret to flattering bikini pics? BAN overhead sunlight. When shooting bikinis, sunrise or sunset are your best friends. We shot this at 7am….”
Hurley – who is currently dating country singer Billy Ray Cyrus – previously revealed that she only drinks alcohol as an “absolute treat” to maintain her enviable figure.
She told the Daily Mail newspaper last year, “I think probably because of my work with the breast cancer foundation, I’ve really listened to what they’ve said about health. Of course, when you’re really looking after your health, you tend to look better at the same time.”
She continued, “They definitely advise us not to carry any excess weight, and to exercise and eat healthily, and they advise against alcohol, so I try to follow those guidelines as much as I can.” I don’t drink much alcohol at all. I’ve also found that as I’ve got older, my body processes it less well than it did when I was younger. I only drink alcohol as an absolute treat now.”
