Season one’s major twist
The neo-noir drama took wild, otherwordly turn in season one with the shocking revelation that John and his secret society, the Polyglots, are actually aliens sent to Earth to observe human behaviour.
By the season finale, their cover is blown and the aliens are forced to leave earth. However, after discovering that fellow Polygot Henry had gone rogue and was an accomplice to missing girl Olivia’s serial-killer kidnapper, John decided to stay on the planet to track him down and find his missing sister Djen.
What to expect from season two
Billed as a “contemporary, unique take” on the private detective genre, season two sees Colin Farrell reprise his role as LA investigator and film connoisseur John Sugar.
John, who stayed on Earth hoping to find his sister, takes on a new missing persons case – searching for the older brother of an up-and-coming local boxer.
The synopsis continues: “As the investigation expands into a sinister, city-wide conspiracy, Sugar must reckon with himself to answer the question –– how far will he go to do what’s right?”
Who stars in season two?
Colin Farrell (In Bruges, The Banshees of Inisherin) reprises his role as John Sugar.
He’s joined by a brand new cast of stars, including Jin Ha (Pachinko), Raymond Lee (Quantum Leap), Tony Dalton (Better Call Saul), Laura Donnelly (Outlander), Sasha Calle (The Flash), along with special guest star Shea Whigham (Perry Mason).
