Mark-Paul Gosselaar has left fans doing a double take. The Saved by the Bell star, who became a household name playing Zack Morris in the beloved teen sitcom, has unveiled an impressively muscular new look while promoting his latest television project.
The 52-year-old actor showed off his ripped physique during Bell Media’s recent Upfront presentation, where he appeared on stage in a tiny crop top and fitted shorts that highlighted his toned abs, sculpted arms and athletic frame.
Video clips from the event quickly spread across social media, with fans stunned by the dramatic transformation.
Mark-Paul’s appearance comes as he prepares to star in the upcoming comedy series Bulges, a workplace comedy centred around the staff of a “not-so-family-friendly” all-male restaurant.
During the presentation, the actor fully embraced the tongue-in-cheek nature of the role, dancing confidently across the stage before blowing a kiss to the audience.

Others couldn’t believe the actor’s age, with many praising his dedication to fitness more than three decades after he first became one of television’s biggest teen stars.

Mark-Paul starred as Zack Morris on Saved by the Bell from 1989 until 1993, alongside Mario Lopez, Tiffani Thiessen, Elizabeth Berkley and the late Dustin Diamond.
The show became a cultural phenomenon and turned its young cast into some of the most recognizable faces on television.
© Getty ImagesBut while audiences saw a carefree California teenager on screen, Mark-Paul has previously revealed that life behind the scenes was far more grown-up than many fans realized.
Speaking in the 2021 documentary Kid 90, he recalled a piece of advice he received when he first arrived on set as a teenager.
© NBCUniversal via Getty Images“I remember walking on the stage of Saved by the Bell and the director was saying, ‘The minute you walk through these double doors leading onto the stage, you’re no longer a child anymore, you’re an adult. You have to act like an adult.'”
At the time, the young actor didn’t fully understand the significance of the comment. “I didn’t think much of it,” he said.
Looking back, however, he believes it reflected the reality of working in Hollywood at such a young age. “We all know what that meant. This is an adult business.”

One of the reasons, he explained, that he has never encouraged his own children to pursue acting is because of the pressures that come with growing up in the spotlight. “That’s one of the reasons I don’t want my children in it because I don’t feel it’s a place for children,” he said.
Away from the cameras, Mark-Paul is a devoted father of four. He shares children Michael, 22, and Ava, 20, with his former wife Lisa Ann Russell, while he and his wife Catriona McGinn are parents to son Dekker, 12, and daughter Lachlyn, 11.
Despite spending years as one of television’s most recognisable stars, the actor admitted he largely avoided watching his own work for decades.
That changed in 2020 when he launched the rewatch podcast Zack to the Future, which saw him revisit episodes of Saved by the Bell for the first time.

Even after more than 30 years, the perfectionist in him still notices moments he would have approached differently. “There are moments where I’m talking with Dashiell and I say, ‘My timing is off there; if I had just done it this way I bet I would have gotten a bigger laugh.'”
He added: “That’s just the perfectionist in me, which is why I don’t like to watch my work. I feel like I should leave it on the set.”
