Harrison Ford proved age is just a number as he showcased his astonishing physique during a solo bike ride through Los Angeles over the weekend.
Just days before celebrating his 84th birthday on July 13, the Indiana Jones legend was photographed making the most of the California sunshine, revealing his impressively toned arms in a fitted black cycling tank and matching shorts.
The Oscar-nominated actor looked every bit the action hero as he enjoyed the outing, later pulling a white long-sleeved top from his backpack before continuing his ride. He completed the sporty look with black trainers, ankle socks, sunglasses and, importantly, a white cycling helmet.
While Harrison has spent decades performing daring stunts on screen, the Star Wars icon has previously admitted that these days his workouts are all about longevity rather than pushing himself to extremes.
“I believe in training for injury prevention more than anything else. I’m an old fart and I need to protect myself,” he told Men’s Health.
The actor has also revealed that staying active is simply part of his everyday life.
“I’m active physically. I play tennis, I ride my bike, I do a little work in the gym,” he shared during an interview last year.
His healthy lifestyle extends beyond exercise. Harrison previously revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that he mostly eats fish and vegetables as part of his balanced diet.
Unlike many Hollywood stars, Harrison has never shied away from ageing, insisting he has no desire to turn back the clock.
“I don’t want to be young again,” he told People. “I was young, and now I enjoy being old.
“You are certainly physically diminished by age but there are wonderful things about age – richness of experience, the full weight of all the time you’ve been spending getting to being old – and there’s a certain ease in it for me.”
The philosophy appears to be serving him well, with the actor looking remarkably fit as he prepares to celebrate another birthday.
Despite approaching his mid-eighties, retirement isn’t on Harrison’s agenda. When asked by Variety last year whether he planned to step away from acting, his answer was simple: “No.”
“That’s one of the things I thought was attractive about the job of an actor, was that they need old people, too, to play old people’s parts.”
The screen legend is currently filming season four of the hit Apple TV+ comedy Shrinking, in which he reprises his fan-favourite role as Paul alongside Jason Segel, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie and Michael Urie. The new season is expected to premiere in 2027.
Earlier this year, Harrison received the Life Achievement Award at the 32nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, where he delivered an emotional speech reflecting on his extraordinary career.
“I feel incredibly grateful for this kind attention, but to be clear, I’m also quite humbled,” he told the audience before joking: “I’m here to receive a prize for being alive.”
He later described himself as “indeed a lucky guy,” thanking collaborators including George Lucas and Steven Spielberg for helping shape one of Hollywood’s most iconic careers.
More than four decades after first picking up Indiana Jones’ fedora and Han Solo’s blaster, Harrison remains one of the industry’s busiest leading men – and, judging by his latest outing, one of its fittest too.
