Harry Connick Jr. couldn’t have been prouder of his eldest daughter, Georgia, who celebrated her 30th birthday on Thursday. The A-list singer took to Instagram to share a photo of the 30-year-old on her special day, clad in a blue striped dress featuring a halter neck.
She looked chic with sunglasses on her head and wore her blonde locks straight down past her shoulders.
“Our brilliant daughter, Georgia Tatom Connick, is 30 today!!!” Harry wrote in the caption. “Happy birthday to a true genius…you are a gift to all of us, peach…I love you more than you know.”
Georgia rushed to the comment section to share the love, writing: “I love you so much!!! Thank youuu.” Harry’s fans couldn’t believe just how similar Georgia looked to his wife, former Victoria’s Secret model Jill Goodacre, whom he married in 1994.
“I thought it was Jill,” wrote one fan, while another added: “She is just like her mom!! Happy Birthday!!” A third chimed in: “I thought it was a picture of her mother! What a beauty. Happy Birthday!” while a fourth declared: “Looks like her mama.”
Harry and Jill welcomed Georgia in 1996, followed by Kate in 1997 and Charlotte in 2002. “For me, it’s really like my family is first,” the doting dad told Who. “They’re brilliant, driven, really, really smart, creative women. And our lives have become exponentially greater as a result of the perspective we’ve gained from them.”
Georgia and her sisters grew up out of the spotlight in small-town Connecticut, and Harry’s eldest relocated to New Orleans for college after graduating high school.
She then transferred to NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied film. Georgia had the opportunity to work with her famous father on his 2021 album, Alone With My Faith, when she shot and directed the album cover and led the music video for “Amazing Grace”.
“As a father, it was amazing,” the 58-year-old told Billboard. “And as an artist, to collaborate with – well, first of all, to collaborate with anyone during the pandemic was a thrill, but to collaborate with someone as brilliant and artistically full of life as Georgia was really awesome.”
Georgia takes after her mother in more than looks, too – she is also signed to a modeling agency. However, the budding star wants to ensure she isn’t viewed as just another nepo baby.
“It was difficult. I’m not going to lie and say it wasn’t,” she told Who of having famous parents. “I think people can have a certain view of you before meeting.”
“But I think my parents have taught us so much,” she continued. “To treat people like they don’t know you at all, so you can give them the best version of yourself. And to treat everyone with respect and just hope that they can see us as we see ourselves.”
