When it comes to perfecting the ultimate bikini style, Leni Klum clearly takes after her famous mom, Heidi Klum. The 21-year-old took to Instagram this week to share the ultimate swimwear snap, but her choice of accessory may surprise you.
In the photo, Leni is seen lounging on a white outdoor sofa, casually sipping from a water bottle. She wore a micro-mini white bikini paired with sleek black skinny sunglasses, and added an unexpected twist with fluffy socks and UGG slippers.
Her brunette locks were slicked back into an elegant updo and she opted for a makeup-free complexion. In the caption, she penned: “an UGG summer.”
Leni’s modeling career
Leni was first approached by a modeling scout at the age of 12, however, her mom would not allow her to sign. It wasn’t until Leni was 16 that Heidi allowed her to make her debut alongside her for Vogue Germany.
“It’s not just jumping in front of the camera and looking pretty,” she told Vogue Germany back in March. “There are a lot of things that happen behind the scenes that you don’t even see in the end product. Modeling requires a lot of discipline.”
The rising star takes after her mom, who is synonymous with her campaigns for the likes of Intimissimi and Victoria’s Secret. The pair have even starred alongside each other in campaigns for the Italian lingerie brand.
In March, they unveiled their latest collaboration, with the shot capturing the pair posing on pink rose petals with a baby pink backdrop. Heidi donned a hot-pink lingerie set that consisted of a balconette bra adorned with intricate lace detailing. Meanwhile, Leni stunned in a baby punk corset top and a matching thong, with the lace set adorned with a red cherry print.
“A lot of people are like, ‘Oh, I don’t know about mom and daughter doing this together,'” Heidi told People of her lingerie campaigns with her daughter. “But for us? I’m proud of my daughter. She’s fine with me like that. I’ve always been very open with my body. When I’m suntanning in the backyard, I might not have a top on. I’m European…my kids don’t know me any other way and are probably more easygoing with their bodies because of it.”
“Leni’s learned a lot over the years. Sometimes she’ll say, ‘Maybe I should have listened to my mom four years ago.’ When you’re young, being cool is everything. So maybe mom’s advice doesn’t always feel cool at the time.”
