Adopted by iconic beachwear brands including Roxy, Billabong and Quiksilver, hibiscus print pays homage to the flower’s rich cultural history. Hailing from subtropical regions across Asia and the Pacific Islands, hibiscus serves as the national flower of Malaysia and the state flower of Hawaii, where it symbolises the Aloha spirit, hospitality, and femininity.

This still rings true today. Spring/summer 2026 marked a turning point for the floral motif, with brands including Dior and Shuting Qui serving up tropical vibes on the runway via expertly sequinned mini dresses and jewellery. The print was revived a season later by Nahmias during men’s fashion week, when models hit the catwalk in classic hibiscus print loungewear in contrasting shades of red and white.
