Country music legend, Garth Brooks, 64, has shared a major update! The singer has been named the No.1 selling album artist in history, receiving the first ever Artist of a Lifetime Award at Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
The news was followed by a new update posted by the star, who shared his profound gratitude and appreciation for the honor.
The post read: “They say that gratefulness is the seed of happiness, and I am grateful every single day to have been given this shot. A lot of people get the shot. But Bob Doyle told me early on that getting the shot wasn’t going to be the hard part. The hard part was going to be hanging on to it. I can’t thank God and the people enough for my life and the career I have been so lucky to have.”
The “Friends in low places” hitmaker, who has been in the spotlight for over 30 years, began his professional music career in 1985, singing and playing in Oklahoma clubs and bars. Now, Garth is the first and only artist in history to earn 10 Diamond-certified albums.
By his side through all of it, has been wife Trisha Yearwood, 61, with whom he seems to share an unshakeable love, as the two have remained steadfast throughout their 20 years of marriage.
The iconic duo first met back in 1987, before either of their careers took off, and decades later, Trisha shared an insight on the secret to a happy marriage.

Supported by his loving wife, Garth has established himself as one of the most outspoken country artists of today, with his fierce support for gay rights and marriage equality.
His 1992 song, “We Shall Be Free,” denounces homophobia, racism, financial inequality, and religious intolerance, with lyrics stating: “When we’re free to love anyone we choose / When this world’s big enough for all different views / When we all can worship from our own kind of pew / Then we shall be free.”

“I’m madly in love with her, and I can’t stand to spend a day without her,” the singer exclaimed. Garth didn’t end there, as he could be seen filled with emotion when Trisha received the ACM Honors Icon Award in October 2024.
