Lamine’s star power was so great that FC Barcelona tore up his previous contract, which promised a gross annual salary of around $1.82 million, and instead issued him an eye-watering new deal. He signed a six-year contract with the team in May 2025 that raised his salary to around $18 million a year before tax. This amount has the potential to skyrocket when performance bonuses are factored in.
Lamine then landed at number 10 on Forbes‘ list of the world’s highest-paid soccer players, thanks to this incredible deal. It comes as no surprise that FC Barcelona wanted to retain his talent, after he became the youngest player in the squad’s history at 15 years, nine months and 16 days old.
He is also the youngest goal scorer to ever play for the Spanish national team, and the youngest goal scorer in the UEFA European Championship. To top it off, he was the youngest player nominated for the prestigious Ballon d’Or prize at just 17 years old.

© Getty ImagesLamine may be a multi-millionaire now, but his childhood wasn’t always easy. The Spaniard, who grew up in Barcelona, is the only child of Moroccan-born building painter Mounir Nasraoui and Equatorial Guinean-born waitress Sheila Eban.
Lamine’s whole family worked hard to provide for him, and the teen has often touted his love and appreciation for his paternal grandmother, Fátima, who instilled a strong work ethic in him.
“The first to arrive [in Spain] was my grandmother, who sneaked onto the bus from Morocco and managed to get to Mataró,” he said on his episode of the Resonancia de Corazón con Jose Ramon de la Morena podcast.

The winger’s parents split up when he was three years old, and he grew up in working-class neighborhoods while his mother and father made ends meet.

Lamine has also had the chance to give his three-year-old brother Keyne a better life. “I came from an apartment where the kitchen and bedroom were in the same place,” he explained.
“[Now,] I see my mother happy, I see that my brother can have the childhood I would have wanted, and that’s what makes me happiest.”
