Jack Nicholson’s heartbreaking wish in his 80s after turning his back on Hollywood

Jack Nicholson has well and truly conquered Hollywood. While we haven’t seen him on the big screen since his role in the 2010 rom-com How Do You Know, the 89-year-old is one of the most honored actors in cinema history, boasting three Oscar wins out of 12 nominations.

But while he’s enjoyed huge success in his career, one aspect of his personal life remains unconquered. 

In a previous interview with US magazine Closer, Jack revealed that he “would love one last romance“. 

“But I’m not very realistic about it happening,” the actor said in 2015. “What I can’t deny is my yearning.”

“I’m definitely still wild at heart, but I’ve struck biogravity,” he continued. 

Jack also said that he “can’t hit on women in public anymore” because “it just doesn’t feel right at my age.”

“I have had everything a man could ask for but no one could say I’m successful with affairs of the heart,” said the actor. 

Jack’s previous relationships 

Jack’s longest relationship was with Oscar-winning actress Anjelica Huston. The pair met at Jack’s 36th birthday party in April 1973 at his house on Mulholland Drive in LA and went on to have an on-and-off relationship for almost two decades.

Their romance ended in 1990 after he revealed that he had fathered a child outside their relationship with actress Rebecca Broussard. Jack and Rebecca share two children: daughter Lorraine, born in 1990, and son Ray, born in 1992.

Before his relationship with Anjelica, Jack was married to actress Sandra Knight from 1962 to 1968. The couple had one daughter, who was born in 1963.

Jack also shares a son named Caleb Goddard, born in 1970, with his Five Easy Pieces co-star Susan Anspach, and a daughter named Honey Hollman with Danish model Winnie Hollman. His youngest daughter is Tessa Gourin, whom he shares with waitress Jennine Gourin.

Jack’s acting career and possible comeback

Jack’s longtime collaborator, James L. Brooks, the director who led him to Oscars for performances in 1983’s Terms of Endearment and 1997’s As Good As It Gets, anticipated a comeback for the star.

At the end of last year, James told People that Jack hasn’t retired from acting. “Oh, I don’t think he stopped. I mean, he’s gotten scripts, he’s reading them, and I’m sure we’ll be seeing them.”
