Jamie Lynn Spears has been preparing for her daughter, Maddie’s, high school graduation for weeks, but it appears she is still struggling to cope with how fast her daughter is growing up.
The Sweet Magnolias star, 35, shared an update on the 17-year-old’s graduation prep on Tuesday and admitted she was feeling “emotionally unwell” ahead of Maddie’s major milestone.
“Already emotionally unwell, and the actual graduation hasn’t even happened yet,” the Zoe 101 actress penned alongside a carousel of photos on Instagram.
In one photo, Jamie Lynn, who shares her eldest with ex-fiancé Casey Aldridge, stands proudly beside Maddie, who towers over her as she appears to be inducted into the National Honor Society.
Another photo shows Maddie’s graduation gown, which includes a gold stole and several medals indicating she earned specialized distinctions, such as honor roll status and GPA excellence.
Other photos show Maddie posing on the school football field with her friends, a separate shot with her eight-year-old sister, Ivey, whom Jamie Lynn shares with husband Jamie Watson, and a group photo with her mom, sister, and grandmother, Lynne Spears.
Last month, Jamie Lynn shared an emotional message alongside a series of stunning pictures ahead of the big day, including Maddie’s graduation invite, which featured a picture of the teen posing in a polka dot prom dress while posing in a field.
In the caption, the doting mom wrote: “Welp….the grad invites are sent, the cap and gown arrived, and the last regular day of school is here….I guess the lovely state of denial that I forced myself to be in has to end, bc the reality of time is coming at me like a freight train.”
© InstagramReflecting on the emotional rollercoaster of parenthood, Jamie Lynn continued: “I know the saying ‘the days are long, but the years are short’ is one of the most cliche sayings, bc it’s said so much, but I now know that cliches are only said so much bc they continue to ring true in every lifetime throughout the test of time.
“Maybe, people only hate cliches, bc they are the undeniable, unavoidable truth hitting us right in the face, and if you’re fortunate enough, kids growing up is one of those few guarantees in life.

As she reflected on her relationship with her daughter, the star ended her post by writing: “I know I’m one of luckiest mama’s in the world, so I’ll stop my rambling now, until I completely lose it on graduation day.
