Jayden Federline is addressing Britney Spears’ health. The 19-year-old has made his first statements to the public regarding Spears, who’s been the subject of media attention ever since she was arrested under suspicion of a DUI.
Federline was spotted outside of the Laugh Factory in West Hollywood, a stand-up comedy venue, when he was approached by photographers regarding his mother’s health.
“No comment,” he said, opting to keep his family life private. Photographers continued to probe, asking if she was doing better, to which Federline replied with an encouraging nod.
Earlier this week, Spears pleaded to a “wet reckless,” a lesser charge than a DUI. She received a 12-month probation from the judge and a sentence for a day in jail, which she fulfilled upon her arrest in March.
“Through her plea today, Britney has accepted responsibility for her conduct,” said Spears’ lawyer, Michael Goldstein. “She has taken significant steps to implement positive change, which is clearly reflected in the Ventura County District Attorney’s decision to reduce the charge in this case and dismiss the DUI. Britney appreciates this discretion and is also grateful for the outpouring of support she has received.”
Following the arrest, Spears voluntarily checked into a treatment facility, with her family and friends suggesting it as a viable option that demonstrated that she took the charges seriously.
Spears’ relationship with her sons
Over the past year, Spears has been spending more time with her sons, Jayden and Sean Preston, 20. According to sources, the two played a key role in her seeking treatment.
“They’re the only ones she listens to, and they were so loving, so kind, but also so firm,” said a source to The Daily Mail. “This was non-negotiable to them. She needed to get help and they told her that they wouldn’t take no for an answer.”
“It was like, ‘Mom, you have to go if you want us coming around,’” continued the source, “and that was all the incentive she needed.”
The source claims Spears wants a relationship with them after the time they spent apart, when her sons were living with their father, Kevin Federline. “She wants a relationship with them, which would have been jeopardized if she didn’t go. So she made the right move and they say she seems happy about it,” concluded the source.
