Dame Joan Collins proved once again that true Hollywood glamour knows no age as she made a dazzling appearance at the 79th annual Cannes Film Festival.
The legendary actress, 92, turned heads on May 12 as she attended the opening ceremony and screening of La Vénus Électrique at the iconic Palais des Festivals in Cannes, commanding attention in a show-stopping couture gown that was nothing short of breathtaking.
Stepping onto the famed red carpet, Joan embodied timeless elegance in a sculptural white dress adorned with dramatic, petal-like ruffles that framed her décolletage. The figure-hugging silhouette flowed effortlessly to the floor, creating a statuesque effect that highlighted her poise and enduring star power.
Adding to the drama, the Dynasty icon styled her look with classic black opera gloves, a dazzling diamond necklace and matching chandelier earrings that sparkled under the flash of photographers’ cameras. Her signature beauty look was equally striking, with softly defined eyes, a rosy flush and a bold pink lip completing the ensemble.
As she posed confidently for the cameras, Joan radiated the kind of effortless glamour that has defined her career for decades. With her hair swept up into a voluminous updo, she exuded old-school sophistication while standing shoulder to shoulder with fellow guests John Gore, husband Percy Gibson and Laurent Lafitte in tuxedos and evening wear.
Joan has long been known for her glamorous style of dress, stepping out at red carpet premieres and glitzy evening events in elegant attire. When it comes to her look, the star has one non-negotiable.
“Everybody’s going to end up in jeans and T-shirts, which I think is tragic… I hate jeans. I hate them, they’re so unflattering,” the star of The Stud told Vogue in 2019.
“And I hate jeans with holes in the knees, or holes anywhere. I’m not keen on T-shirts with logos, either. I like to be comfortable, but I want to be elegant, too.”
Aside from her wardrobe, Dame Joan’s youthful look is a result of her healthy and active lifestyle.
In a recent HELLO! exclusive, Joan revealed that “if you feel good, you look good”, saying that she exercises up to four times a week. “I think it’s important, but it’s not terribly strenuous anymore. You don’t get legs like this if you don’t!”
Of cosmetic surgery, Joan added: “I don’t believe in needles and things. I’ve never had Botox or anything in my face.”
