It may be one of the hottest Julys on record, but the Princess of Wales showed no sign of wilting as she stepped out for a new royal engagement. Dressing to impress, the mother of three donned a chic white dress with contrasting black buttons and a waist-defining belt by a brand regularly celebrated by the royal family, Suzannah London.

The adorably named ‘Flippy Wiggle Dress’ costs £2,790, and the website says of the supremely designed ensemble: “A re-interpretation from our own vintage archive, with our original inspiration deriving from a late 1940s Wiggle Dress, which we have re-cut to have it skim over the bodice with a fluid, gentle soft movement throughout the skirt, from the hips to the hemline.”

If this dress looks familiar, that’s because Kate wore it back in 2019, when she headed to Wimbledon.

The beautiful, timeless design is the ideal number to wear in the heatwave as the loose material is cooling against the body, and the white shade reflects the light.

Kate’s Wimbledon appearance

Speaking of Wimbledon, Kate visited the famous Wimbledon Queue last week, meeting fans who had camped overnight for tickets before speaking with volunteer stewards, spending time with the Shine Camera Club, and watching some of the day’s play.

The princess is a familiar face at the Championships, both as a keen tennis fan and as Patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. The brunette royal looked incredible as she arrived at SW19 on Thursday wearing a blue blazer and matching trousers, cut in a heatwave-friendly linen-blend, from Gabriela Hearst. The elegant two-piece coordinated beautifully with the Princess’ moonstone and lapis drop earrings from British brand Carousel Jewels.

Kate’s hospital visit

Kate is patron of Evelina London Children’s Hospital, and on Monday afternoon, she heard about its vision to become the city’s most comprehensive and integrated children’s hospital.

The Princess began her visit at the Edward ward, a new children’s cardiac ward within the North Wing at St Thomas’s Hospital, meeting children being treated and their families. Afterwards, she spent time at the Galaxy ward, a brand-new outpatients unit within the Children’s Day Treatment Centre that opened in May.
