There is nothing quite like a hot bank holiday weekend. The UK is experiencing a heatwave right now, but, as much as it’s wonderful to experience, dressing for blistering heat can be quite the task.
However, the Princess of Wales’ summer wardrobe always gives us endless inspiration, and these photographs of her donning white shorts in 2022 have made us want to invest in a similar pair, ASAP.

The royal headed to Plymouth with the 1851 Trust, where she joined Sir Ben Ainslie and the British crew at a SailGP event. Nailing nautical chic with major aplomb, the wife of Prince William sported a pair of ‘Oyster’ shorts with gold buttons, made from linen, from royally-loved brand, Holland Cooper.

Looking like a supermodel, Kate’s elegant, tailored shorts were the classy take on baring one’s legs. Many would categorise these shorts as ‘Bermuda’, but they are slightly shorter, yet still respectable. Shorts like these give the leg great coverage and, due to the linen material, are designed to keep the body cool during noticeable heat.
Styling to perfection, Kate expertly teamed her shorts with a blue and white Breton striped jumper and her trusty Superga trainers, a favourite of hers for sporting events.

Another notable time the royal wore shorts was also in 2022. That year, Kate was seen at the Platinum Jubilee Sailing Regatta at Montagu Bay in the Bahamas sporting a pair of shorts that would be a perfect festival staple. Designed in a slate hue, they were relaxed in design and were rolled at the hem.
The shorts were cinched at the waist with a leather belt, and once again, the royal paired them with a white polo top for the sporty occasion and her Superga trainers.

In 2019, the princess joined her husband William at the King’s Cup Yachting Regatta. Kate looked lovely in her casual-cool outfit of a polo T-shirt, a pair of navy shorts and trainers. Then known as the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate appeared well-put-together and well-rested, possibly due to the fact that she had just returned from a Mustique summer holiday. The mum-of-three’s hair was styled in a ponytail, and she wore subtle makeup, enhanced by her glowing bronzed skin.
