It’s been a week of highs and lows for Prince Harry. Though the Duke of Sussex lost his High Court privacy battle against Associated Newspapers on Wednesday, his spirits were likely buoyed by the rapturous reception he received in Birmingham on Friday morning at the Invictus one-year-to-go event.
Following the successful event in the Midlands, HELLO! can confirm that Harry travelled to his father, King Charles’ Gloucestershire residence, Highgrove House, where he was hosted by the monarch and Queen Camilla. For the occasion, Harry was joined by his wife, Meghan Markle, and the pair’s two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
When did Prince Harry and King Charles last meet?
The estranged father and son last enjoyed one another’s company in September 2025, when Prince Harry was seen arriving by car at King Charles’ London residence, Clarence House.
Buckingham Palace confirmed the King had a private tea with the Duke at Clarence House. The meeting was short but sweet, with Prince Harry departing Clarence House roughly an hour after his arrival.

Prince Harry’s hopes for a reconciliation
The Duke of Sussex has spoken openly and publicly about his hopes to reunite with his family, most notably in a BBC interview in May 2025.
© BBCDuring the candid chat, Prince Harry revealed that his father was no longer speaking to him, mainly because of the ongoing row over his security arrangements.
The father-of-two spoke of his hopes to reconcile with the family, sharing: “I would love reconciliation with my family; there’s no point in continuing to fight anymore. Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has, he won’t speak to me because of this security stuff.”

The Duke spoke of the extent of the fallout between him and his family members, including his brother, Prince William, as he explained: “There have been so many disagreements, differences between me and some of my family. This current situation that has now been ongoing for five years in regard to human life and safety is the sticking point. It is the only thing that’s left.”
He added: “Of course, some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book. Of course, they will never forgive me for lots of things.”
