Sisters Lady Amelia Spencer and Lady Eliza Spencer stepped out for a day at Wimbledon on Thursday, both looking fabulous in white dresses. The nieces of the late Princess Diana posed for paparazzi photos and waved to fans as they toured around the iconic tennis club. In a behind-the-scenes moment, just as the pair went to leave the venue, they were spotted carrying out a selfless act.
In a video shared by @breakingnewslondon, Amelia was seen reaching into her bag to retrieve a ticket, which she then presented to a hopeful tennis fan, who could possibly now access Centre Court free of charge.
When the clip circulated online, fans were quick to share their praise for the kind act. “Well done ladies, that’s so lovely of you,” penned one Instagrammer, and: “Well done ladies,” another agreed. A third penned: “Beautiful girls just like their beautiful aunt Diana.”
However, despite it being a kind gesture, this is actually against the Wimbledon rules as there is a separate queue dedicated to tickets that have been passed back, so technically the sisters should have used this official method give their used tickets up.
Tennis whites
The duo not only acted impeccably but their dress sense was flawless on the day too, with both of them opting for the iconic Wimbledon whites.
Amelia wore a Holland Cooper Aimee Sleeveless Dress which she teamed with co-ordinating white heels. Her twin sister Eliza also sported the same brand, donning the Chatsworth Dress with an elegant cut which she finished off with black heels. Together they looked stunning!
The day before, Amelia, 33, wowed in a pair of blue tailored shorts with a matching waistcoat from Intermissi. Blue clearly having a moment as that was the hue Princess Kate decided to wear to Wimbledon this year too. Meanwhile, her sister Eliza opted for an all-white outfit of linen trousers and a waistcoat. While watching the tennis in the blissful sunshine, both accessorised their looks with cute sunglasses, and Eliza was seen using a fan to keep cool.
Diana’s legacy
Amelia previously spoke to HELLO! about her late Aunt and admired her compassionate nature. “I feel that I have quite a compassionate nature, and I hope that’s something I inherited from her. Diana was an incredible icon, and I know she touched a lot of people’s hearts and lives,” she said.
In another chat with HOLA! Fashion, Amelia and Eliza both heralded their late aunt, Princess Diana’s fashion sense. Amelia said: “I admire my aunt, Diana, Princess of Wales, for her elegance and the way she used fashion as a form of self-expression.” Something Lady Eliza agrees with: “Her style was timeless, and she carried herself with confidence.”
