Lady Gaga wants to give baby Rose a ‘normal childhood’

Lady Gaga may be one of the biggest pop stars on the planet, but when it comes to her baby girl, she’s keeping things decidedly low-key.

The “Poker Face” singer, 40, and her fiancé, Michael Polansky, 43, welcomed their first child, daughter Rose Bean Polansky, via surrogate on June 9, according to a birth certificate obtained by TMZ.

Since becoming a mom, Gaga has reportedly been soaking up the quieter side of life and keeping her growing family away from the Hollywood frenzy.

Gaga Is Keeping Her Baby Girl Close

A source told Page Six that Gaga and Polansky have been enjoying their own “little family bubble” since welcoming Rose.

The couple have reportedly started taking their daughter on a few low-key outings, but they’re otherwise being extremely private about their new life as parents.

After wrapping her Mayhem Ball tour in April, Gaga reportedly stepped away from the spotlight and spent time nesting at her private home in Marin County, California.

And while the superstar has spent decades embracing bold fashion, elaborate performances and ever-changing personas, motherhood appears to have shifted her priorities.

“She’s fiercely protective of her daughter,” the source said, adding that Gaga is “very particular” about who she allows around Rose.

She Wants Rose to Grow Up Out of the Spotlight

Despite having spent most of her adult life under intense public scrutiny, Gaga reportedly wants to give her daughter as ordinary a childhood as possible.

The source said the singer hopes Rose can grow up away from the constant attention that comes with having a famous mom.

Motherhood has also reportedly brought out a softer side of Gaga.

“She’s always been such a strong, powerful woman,” the source said, but becoming a mother has revealed a more emotional side of the star.

Gaga is reportedly enjoying spending time at home with Rose and embracing the slower pace of family life after years of nonstop work.

Gaga and Michael Polansky Are Loving Parenthood

The couple appear to be fully leaning into their new roles.

A source previously told PEOPLE that Gaga and Polansky “beam when they talk about being parents,” while another insider said Polansky seems “lighter” and happier since becoming a dad.

Both reportedly took time away from their respective work commitments over the summer so they could focus on their newborn.

Earlier this month, Gaga was photographed arriving in Los Angeles with Rose. The singer was seen carrying her daughter in a light-colored baby sling, offering one of the few public glimpses of the new mom-and-daughter duo.

Gaga Has Wanted to Be a Mom for Years

Motherhood isn’t exactly a surprise goal for Gaga. The singer, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, has spoken openly about wanting children for years.

During a 2025 appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, she said becoming a mother was something she hoped would be her “next starring role.”
