Lady Kitty Spencer, 35, enjoyed a family day out with her daughter, Athena, as she showed her support for her rarely-pictured husband, Michael Lewis, 67.
The billionaire and Chairman and Owner of Strandbags Holdings opened the flagship store of British luggage brand Antler on Regent Street on 21 April. This came after a difficult few years for the brand, which filed for administration amid the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 before Michael stepped in and purchased Antler.
Visiting the thriving new store, Kitty celebrated the brand’s turnaround, writing on Instagram: “Checking out Dada’s @antlerofficial store.” Her daughter Athena tested out the luggage, inspecting a grey hard-shell suitcase on display in a cute pink outfit. While Kitty kept her face hidden from the camera, she revealed that Athena had inherited the Spencer genes, sporting bright blonde hair like her great-aunt, Princess Diana.
Her long locks had been smartly fastened away from her face in a plait, while another photo showed the wispy strands around her face had been tamed with a cute white clip. It was clearly a successful shopping trip for the mother-daughter duo, since Athena clutched the handle of a sleek Antler bag that rivalled her height!
Private motherhood journey
Kitty and Michael have kept their relationship largely out of the spotlight. Despite a 32-year age gap, the pair confirmed their romance in 2019, shortly before they got engaged over Christmas.
Princess Diana’s relative and the fashion tycoon got married in July 2021 at Villa Aldobrandini in Frascati, Italy, with the bride wearing multiple custom Dolce & Gabbana gowns.
While several photos were released from their lavish wedding, they have rarely made joint public appearances, with Kitty more regularly posing with her sisters, Lady Amelia and Lady Eliza Spencer.
Maintaining their privacy, Kitty and Michael secretly welcomed their daughter, surprising fans when they announced they were parents on Mother’s Day in 2024.
A video montage showed photos of doting mother Kitty and her baby, which she captioned: “It’s the joy of my life to be your mummy, little one. I love you unconditionally. Happy Mother’s Day to those who celebrate today.”
Kitty admitted to Tatler that she does “a lot less” now that she has her little girl: “I’m much more selective because it’s not really free time anymore,” she said. “I’ve got to really want to do something. I’m happy with the balance.”
