Martha Stewart was one of the many stars who joined royalty at the King’s Trust 50th Anniversary Gala on April 29. The special event — hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla during their US State Visit — was held at the iconic Christie’s auction house in New York City.
Martha donned a sparkly floor-length navy and black and blue dress for the occasion, black open-toe heels and her signature wavy blonde locks.
The mogul spoke exclusively with HELLO! on the red carpet, and revealed the secret to her youthful glow. For her — it starts from the inside-out.
The star shared: “Curiosity and interest in many things and optimism.”
Martha’s new era
The 84-year-old — who is constantly reinventing herself in various industries – showed no signs of slowing down either.
In fact, she has a multitude of new things that she’s currently working on.
She teased her upcoming projects, stating: “I’m doing a lot right now. You’ll see. I’m into software. I’m into skincare. I’m into bed and baths. You’ll see. So much.”
Martha attended the star-studded event alongside the King and Queen, and co-chairs Lionel Richie, Charlotte Tilbury and Edward Enninful.
Other notable guests included Anna Wintour, Iman, Donatella Versace, Stella McCartney, and much more.
The Trust provides life-altering pathways towards education, entrepreneurship and employment itself, to young people who are facing financial instability and hardships.
Martha reflects
Martha reflected on her early interactions with the King and mentioned how she’d like to revisit their first encounters.
She recalled: “I would like to revisit the last time he was here in the United States when he was a young prince. I think I met him then.”
The entrepreneur shared what the duo were up during that time in their lives.
She expressed: “Back then, oh my gosh, publishing, writing books. He was building a garden. He’s a very good gardener, and I’m very interested in that.”
During Martha’s red carpet appearance, she ran into her old friend and makeup mogul Charlotte who continuously complimented her, and told the guests, “I’m obsessed [with her.]”
Charlotte sported a floor-length black sequin and lace dress with a slit at her thigh, black tights, and her voluminous red hair.
The two posed together, and then they were joined by Nina Dobrev and Meghann Fahy.
The King’s Trust Gala successfully raised over $3 million in funds during the evening to help fight international youth unemployment.
