Matthew McConaughey’s 94-year-old mother, Mary Kathlene “Kay” McConaughey, caused quite a stir online when she shared a raunchy tale about her late husband and the actor’s father, James McConaughey.
Matthew recruited his mother to star in the newest campaign for his liquor brand, Pantalones Organic Tequila, and the mother of two couldn’t resist telling the tale. The advertisement began with Matthew and his wife, Camila Alves, reclining on an outdoor lounge as he introduced the audience to Kay. “My mom, Kay McConaughey, is 94 years young,” he said. “She once invited her husband to his own wedding.”
The camera then cut to Kay sitting in an ornate leather chair, dressed in a cream-colored fur coat. “I said, ‘Jim McConaughey, if you can make it, fine. If not, I’ll go back to New York, and I model.'”
“She has one very clear thing that she loved about my dad,” Matthew continued, before Kay said: “He was good in bed. We called it ‘The Beast.'”
“I can’t unhear that, can I?” Camila said to her husband, as he replied: “Now you know why I drink.”
“He had a heart attack making love to me, yes, he did,” Kay’s account continued. “What a way to go. And they tried to cover him up. I said, ‘Don’t you dare cover him up. I want everybody to see what’s made me so happy all this time.'”
“Let The Beast show,” she added. “They try to cover you up, just cause you’re dead. No, no, no.”
“She is my mom, and she is the most interesting mom in the world,” Matthew concluded in a voiceover.
© WireImageKay’s hilarious tale garnered thousands of comments from friends and fans alike, and even Matthew’s A Time To Kill co-star and former girlfriend, Sandra Bullock, couldn’t help but chime in, writing: “All hail the beast.” Matthew shares a complicated relationship with his mother, and the pair were estranged for almost a decade during the early years of the Interstellar actor’s Hollywood career.

She couldn’t help herself.”
© FilmMagic“I took people through the house and said, ‘Well, this is where Matthew slept,'” Kay confirmed. “Someone called him and said, ‘Are you watching what your mama’s doing?’ But I was so proud that I was just telling the world.”
After several years in Hollywood, he eventually reconnected with Kay and began taking her to red carpet events. “I was like ‘No rules at all. Tell all the raunchiest things you want.’ And she did, and it was fine. It’s much more fun now,” he added.
