Matt Damon is not one to shy away from making his family members the star of the show on the red carpet.
The actor, 55, attended the premiere of Mumford & Sons: The House Band at the TriBeCa Film Festival in New York City on June 12 and had his wife and stepdaughter along for the occasion.
Matt, wearing a fitted gray tee with matching pants, posed on the carpet with his wife Luciana Barroso Damon, who wore a black tank with matching cigarette pants, and his stepdaughter Alexia Barroso.
Alexia, 27, opted for a semi-sheer black dress with a bandeau top underneath and matching pants. Alexia is Luciana’s daughter from a previous relationship, although she has been raised by the Oscar-winning actor and writer for over two decades.
The Oppenheimer star first met Luciana in 2003 while filming Stuck on You in Miami, where she was working as a bartender. They started dating soon after, announcing their engagement in September 2005 and tying the knot just three months later.
Matt and Luciana have since welcomed daughters Isabella, now 20, Gia, now 17, and Stella, now 15, all of whom have only made occasional public appearances. Alexia has also followed in her stepfather’s footsteps, making a cameo in his 2009 film We Bought a Zoo.
Speaking recently with GQ about working on Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic The Odyssey, Matt reflected on the film likely being his final foray into the world of blockbusters, something he’s given considerable thought because of how much time he’s had to spend away from his family.
© Getty Images“I don’t think people are going to be given the resources to shoot movies that way for much longer,” he opined. “I mean, there are people who will, Denis Villeneuve and Chris, people can do it. And I mean, look, I heard Spielberg say 30 years ago that Lawrence of Arabia couldn’t be made again because it would just be too expensive, right? So there are always these changes.”
“But to do it on film, in camera, a story that big, all on location, there are only a couple people who can mount a production like that at this point, and so those things just aren’t available. And, specifically, probably not for me as I get older,” he added.
© Getty ImagesMatt continued: “I think about it a lot, especially as my kids are getting older: really trying to be here now. And it’s hard for me to do that. And I think maybe that has to do with my own nature.”
“It also has to do with this career where you’re always trying to figure out what’s ahead because it’s such an uncertain business and a pretty ruthless one. Those kinds of things have conspired to, I think, maybe take me out of where I am, more than I’d like.”

So it was very strange. It’s not something I’ve ever experienced. That’s why I kind of sound like a born-again Christian. It’s a feeling that I’ve wanted and finally had.”
