At this year’s BRITs, record producer and musician Mark Ronson will be honoured with the Outstanding Contribution To Music award. Widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in contemporary music, the London-born star has worked with Bruno Mars, Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus and Dua Lipa during the course of his decade-spanning career.
While Mark is busier than ever, the 50-year-old father of two has always maintained that it’s his family that keeps him grounded, while serving as his top priority. Here’s what we know about the music mogul’s life away from the spotlight…
Mark’s famous parents and siblings
Mark is the son of British socialite Ann Dexter-Jones and real estate developer Laurence Ronson. During their marriage, they also welcomed his twin sisters, Charlotte and Samantha Ronson, the latter of whom dated Lindsay Lohan in 2008. Charlotte works as a fashion designer, while Samantha is a DJ, singer and songwriter.
Following Ann’s split from Laurence when Mark was five years old, she married Mick Jones, the founder and leader of the rock band Foreigner, in 1983. Together, the couple welcomed Mark’s half-siblings, Succession actress Annabelle Dexter-Jones, and Alexander Dexter-Jones. Through Ann’s marriage to Mick, who was already a father of two, Mark also has stepbrothers.
Marriage to French actress and singer Joséphine de La Baume
Prior to meeting Grace, Mark was married to French actress and singer Joséphine de La Baume. The pair, who said ‘I do’ at a villa in France in 2011, had been married for five and a half years when they announced their decision to separate in 2017. Their divorce was finalised a year later.
Mark Ronson’s family life with famous wife Grace Gummer
Mark tied the knot with American actress Grace Gummer – aka the daughter of Hollywood legend Meryl Streep and sculptor Don Gummer – in September 2021. The duo, who are extremely private, reportedly met at Chanel’s Tribeca Film Festival dinner in April 2019. By the following year, Mark and Grace had been spotted having dinner with friends in New York, and by 2021, the Love Story actress was photographed wearing a diamond ring.
After some speculation, Mark confirmed that he had popped the question in June 2021. “I got engaged last weekend,” he noted while appearing on The FADER Uncovered podcast. Just two months after he proposed, Mark and his new bride tied the knot. Taking to Instagram in a since-deleted post, the record producer wrote: “To my truest love…out of nowhere, you made 45 hands down the greatest year of my life. And I’m sure it took me 45 years to become the man worthy of your love.
“I hope I spend every one of these birthdays by your side til my last day. And beyond. Forever and ever yours (and yes, we got married).”
Following their nuptials, Mark and Grace went on to welcome two daughters in 2023 and 2025, respectively. Speaking with PEOPLE in 2024, the music star said: “My family is my anchor. “For everything, they’re at the forefront of every single decision I make.”
