Siân Brooke is back on our TV screens in Channel 4’s cyber-thriller, The Undeclared War, which returns with its highly anticipated second season after a four-year hiatus.
The 46-year-old actress appears alongside Simon Pegg, who portrays GCHQ Malware Department head Danny Patrick. Their team must navigate a dangerous Russian cyber-attack, while Siân plays Patrick’s wife, Barbara – a former MI6 agent now working as a GCHQ analyst.
The BAFTA-nominated star has appeared in several primetime dramas over the years, including the psychological thriller Doctor Foster, the hit detective series Sherlock and BBC One’s acclaimed police series, Blue Lights.

Siân is married to actor and director Bill Buckhurst, who has appeared in several major television shows over the years.
In 2003, he appeared in three episodes of the ITV soap Coronation Street, playing a character named Andrew, before going on to land minor roles in various series, including Doctors, New Tricks and Father Brown. He also featured in the 2012 James Bond film, Skyfall.
Viewers may also recognise Bill as Mr Allcock from EastEnders, a role he played for seven episodes in 2010. His most recent acting credit is the 2017 action film starring Jackie Chan, The Foreigner, in which he played an airport police officer.
© Alan Chapman/Dave Benett/Getty IBill is perhaps best known, however, for his work behind the camera. He’s directed a number of stage productions, including the Olivier Award-nominated Sister Act The Musical, and 101 Dalmatians The Musical, which toured the UK and Ireland, and Sweeney Todd.
He also directed the 2018 drama film, Pond Life, starring Daisy Edgar-Jones and Esmé Creed-Miles, which was long listed for 6 British Independent Film Awards.
Taking to Instagram after attending the Olivier Awards in 2023, when Bill was nominated for Sister Act, Siân shared her immense pride. “What a night….. totally hanging on the coat tails of my incredibly talented husband whose show Sister Act was nominated for an Olivier,” she penned. “I’m beyond proud of you Bill!”
Siân’s children and family life
Siân and Bill share two sons, Ben and Archie.
Speaking to HELLO! in May 2024, Siân said the “hardest part” about being a mum is working away from her children.
“My biggest job is being a mum, so the hardest part is that I have to be away from them,” she shared, adding, “But I have an amazing husband who holds the fort.”

“I come back at the weekends and they come over,” she said. “They love Belfast and we travel around Northern Ireland as well. They’re already saying: ‘When are we going to go back?'”
The actress also credited her two boys for keeping her grounded. “They don’t enter into that world; they definitely say it how it is,” revealed the TV star.
Sharing a glimpse into her home life in an interview with the Evening Standard in 2018, she said of Bill: “He’s brilliant — we share everything. You just have to make it work, by hook or by crook.”
When she’s not working, Siân, who lives in southwest London, loves spending time outdoors.
“I love walking along the river in Kingston,” she told Time & Leisure in 2024. “We also take the bikes to Bushy Park or nip up to Wimbledon Common.”
