Meghan Markle and Kris Jenner have put an end to months of speculation surrounding their so-called ‘photogate’ fallout, with a heartfelt, and very public, gesture that has taken fans by surprise.
On Wednesday, the Kardashian-Jenner matriarch shared a glimpse into her relationship with the Duchess of Sussex, revealing a thoughtful Mother’s Day gift sent by Meghan following the pair’s much-talked-about birthday celebrations late last year.
Posting to Instagram Stories, Kris, 70, showed off a curated selection of candles from Meghan’s lifestyle brand As Ever, alongside artisanal chocolates from a collaboration with Los Angeles chocolatier Compartes. The elegant display was accompanied by a handwritten note that immediately caught fans’ attention.
“Dear Kris, Happy Mother’s Day to the most maternal woman in the world” the card read in part, offering a rare personal insight into Meghan’s bond with the reality TV mogul.
“Thank you @meghan @aseverofficial for the beautiful Mother’s Day gifts! These candles smell so delicious!! Happy Mother’s Day!!!” Kris wrote over the image, her message warm, enthusiastic and notably affectionate.
The exchange marks a striking shift in tone after rumors of tension began circulating earlier this year, following the now-infamous “photogate” moment that saw images of Meghan and Prince Harry abruptly removed from social media.
The photos had originally been taken at Kris’s lavish 70th birthday party, a James Bond-themed soirée held at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos’s Beverly Hills mansion on November 8, 2025. The star-studded guest list included Oprah Winfrey, Mariah Carey, Tyler Perry, Vin Diesel, Mark Zuckerberg, Adele and Rich Paul, with Meghan and Harry among the most talked-about attendees.
At the time, both Kris and her daughter Kim Kardashian shared snapshots from the evening, including images posing alongside the Duke and Duchess. However, eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed the photos were later deleted, fuelling speculation of a rift between the high-profile families.
Kim later addressed the situation during an appearance on Khloe Kardashian’s Khloe in Wonder Land podcast, insisting the decision had been entirely respectful rather than dramatic.
“It was really innocent, which is so crazy,” Kim explained. “Mom and Meghan have been friends for some years now, and they have a really sweet relationship.”
According to the SKIMS founder, the timing of the party, which coincided with Remembrance Day, prompted second thoughts after the images were already live.
“I think they realized it was Remembrance Day, and they didn’t want to be seen at a party,” she said. “So we took them down to respect Remembrance Day.”
While the explanation appeared to calm some of the online chatter, the absence of any public interaction between the two camps since then left lingering questions.
But Kris’s latest post not only confirms that any perceived tension is firmly behind them, but also offers a glimpse into a continued friendship that appears to be as warm as ever.
From handwritten notes to carefully chosen gifts inspired by Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s birthdays, Meghan’s gesture feels both personal and intentional.ztruce
