Michael Strahan may not have yet revealed what he’s up to during his time off from Good Morning America, but the topic on his brain has remained the same – go Knicks!

The GMA anchor, 54, has been off from the show for most of the past week. While he hasn’t revealed the reason for his absence, he has taken some time off social media to unwind for his break.

Michael Strahan is a dedicated New York Knicks fan

His last post on Instagram was on Monday, June 8, a set of throwback photos shared to show his support for the New York Knicks ahead of their second game against the San Antonio Spurs (which they did win).

He returned to Instagram on Wednesday, June 10 to once again show his support for the Knicks ahead of their fourth game (which they miraculously came from behind to scoop, taking the score for the NBA Finals so far 3-1).

This time, Michael shared a photo of a statue in New York City wearing a Knicks jersey, accompanied by his two dogs, Enzo and Zuma. “Enzo and Zuma show who they’re rooting for tonight!! Let’s Go Knicks,” he captioned his post.

Fans enthusiastically reacted to the snaps with comments like: “Cuteeeee Enzoo and Zumaaa,” and: “Let’s gooo!!” plus: “They are adorable!!!”

ABC News’ chief business, economics, and technology correspondent Rebecca Jarvis, who also serves as a contributing anchor for GMA, has been stepping in to sub for Robin Roberts for the past week. Robin has been off for a work assignment, absent since June 3.

Rachel Scott, ABC News’ senior political correspondent, has been a replacement for the two anchors on the show since Monday, June 8, joining Rebecca and George Stephanopoulos.

Michael has been co-anchoring GMA since 2016, following a stint as the co-host of LIVE with Kelly Ripa. George has been co-hosting since 2009, while Robin joined the morning news desk back in 2005. The trio have been hosting together for a decade now.

In 2022, Robin and George became the longest running pair of hosts for any major morning news show, with their 13-year tenure helping them pass the milestone. “I’m proud,” the famously stoic George gushed to AP.

“It’s been a great run. Robin has been a joy to work with. We’ve had a lot of fun and great success and covered a lot of consequential things. It’s been an incredible experience.” Former NFL pro Michael even noted that he’s seen George loosen up more and more as a host as time has gone on. “I don’t know if I can take credit for it,” he quipped.

Robin reflected candidly on sharing her health struggles so openly on the air. “Viewers come up to me to this day and say, ‘I prayed for you,'” she recalled emotionally.

“Whew! I mean, come on. After all this time. I’m 12 years out, 10 years from my bone marrow transplant. It just really gets me that people come up and say those things and that I give them hope for a person they know in their life who is going through a similar journey.”
