Naomi Watts couldn’t be more proud of her eldest son Sasha.
This week, the Love Story actress appears to have flown out to Los Angeles to celebrate her son, who finished his first year of college at the University of Southern California.
In addition to the incoming college sophomore, the Oscar nominee is also a mom to daughter Kai, 17, who she shares with ex Liev Schreiber, with whom she was in a relationship from 2005 to 2016.
Sasha took to Instagram May 12 and commemorated his last week of school, first sharing a sunny photo featuring his mom wearing a delicate black blouse, large sunglasses and a raffia hat, while he appeared in a bright yellow t-shirt.
He also shared a photo of who appears to be his little half-sister Hazel Bee, his dad Liev’s daughter with wife Taylor Niesen, and more glimpses into his college life.
“Year one & done,” Sasha celebrated in his caption, while his mom, re-posting the photo of the two to her Instagram Stories, wrote: “Congrats for finishing your first year Sasha!!”
© Getty Images in 2025Sasha graduated from Friends Seminary, the oldest continuously coeducational school in New York City, last year, and at the time of the graduation, Naomi shared celebratory images featuring Sasha as well as Liev, plus her husband Billy Crudup, who she married in 2023.
Per his social media, Sasha is studying at USC’s School of Dramatic Arts; so far, he has one acting credit, for lending his voice as a young wolf in 2016’s The Jungle Book.
Meanwhile, Sasha’s younger sister Kai is a budding model, who is signed with IMG Models. She made her official modeling debut in March 2025, walking for Valentino’s Fall/Winter 2025 show, and she has since modeled for several new campaigns for the brand amid its new era under former Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele’s new directive, as well as for Celine.
© Getty ImagesSpeaking with Interview Magazine last year about her aspirations as she grows up, Kai, who came out publicly as trans in 2025, shared: “I want to be a supermodel. Period. I’ve been practicing my walks in the kitchen for years; my mom can show you all the videos I forced her to film.”

She also said she’s not sure where she wants to go to college because she’s “never been really good at school,” noting: “School has never really been my strong suit. I see myself in the fashion industry. It’s always been my dream. I’m not sure if college is for me, but we’ll see when it rolls around. I like to go with the flow.”
