Paulina Porizkova evicted from her NYC apartment right before her wedding

As Paulina Porizkova prepares to marry fiancé Jeff Greenstein in Italy, the couple is also dealing with an unexpected upheaval far from the romance of their upcoming destination wedding. The pair revealed on their Twenty Good Summers podcast that they are being forced to leave Porizkova’s Manhattan apartment after her landlord declined to renew the lease, creating a stressful situation just days before the ceremony.

“We’re kind of getting evicted because my landlord, no matter how great a tenant I was for six years, he didn’t really want to give us an extension on the lease,” Porizkova said during the May 20 episode. “And so we have to move out of here four days before we get married in Italy.”

The timing has left the couple juggling wedding plans with the uncertainty of where they will live once they return to New York. “We also came back from our wedding and have nowhere to live,” the model added.

Greenstein reacted bluntly to the situation, calling it “not great,” while Porizkova admitted the emotional impact has been significant. The apartment holds deep personal meaning for the former supermodel, who explained that it marked the first home she had truly considered her own since becoming an adult. “It’s been the first place, since I was 18 years old, that was mine,” she shared.

According to Greenstein, it was also the first time Porizkova had ever lived completely alone. The experience gave her the freedom to create a personal sanctuary without compromise after decades spent balancing relationships, motherhood, and public life.

The model described the home as a place that helped her rediscover herself during a transformative period. “It has kept me safe and where I’ve sort of grown up to be a woman,” she said.

Despite the abrupt move, the couple emphasized they recognize their privilege and still have temporary housing options available. Porizkova co-owns a country home with her sons, Jonathan and Oliver, whom she shares with late Cars frontman Ric Ocasek.

Still, she admitted returning there carries difficult memories. “This is not how we would have drawn it up,” Greenstein admitted. “Getting kicked out of this apartment four days before the wedding and coming back to nothing in New York is not what we planned.”

Porizkova revealed they have already come close to signing leases on several apartments, only for unexpected complications to derail the process. “We have found places that we got really excited about and then for a variety of reasons, it didn’t work out,” she explained.

Even with the chaos, the couple appears determined to keep perspective. “We are both over 60, and we are starting again,” Porizkova said. “We’re starting over, completely, both of us.”
