The Princess Royal brought back one of her signature brooches as she stepped out at Ascot racecourse on Saturday.
Anne, 75, looked elegant in a jacquard green belted frock with a cream jacket and a matching pillbox hat as she arrived at the Berkshire meet. Pinned to her coat was a delicate gold horse brooch, featuring diamond-encrusted accents on its mane and tail.
She has owned the accessory since the 1980s and has regularly worn it for the races, including Cheltenham Festival and Royal Ascot.
Its true origin is not known but it’s likely to be in recognition of Princess Royal’s impressive equestrian career and love of horses.
She completed her look with a three-strand pearl necklace, matching earrings and a pop of lipstick.
Anne was joined at the racecourse by her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, who sported a taupe suit with a white shirt and a patterned tie.
The pair were pictured watching the action on the racecourse from the royal box before the Princess presented the trophy to the owners of the racehorse Kalpana, winner of the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

Princess Anne became the first member of the British royal family to compete in the Olympics, participating in the 1976 Games in Montreal on her mother’s horse, Goodwill.
© GettyBut before then, she also came home with a gold medal in 1971 and two silver medals in 1975 at the European Eventing Championships.
Anne’s daughter, Zara Tindall, has followed in her sporty footsteps and won a silver medal with Team GB’s team eventing squad at the London 2012 Olympics.
Princess Anne’s busy week
The Princess Royal’s day at Ascot comes off the back of her attendance at the Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix Practice Day in Southsea, Portsmouth.
She was given a tour of the F50 race boat by Sir Ben Ainslie in her role as President of the Royal Yachting Association (RYA).

The royal met air cadets from across Northern Ireland on her engagement and also paid her respects at the Commonwealth war graves at St Tighernach’s Church of Ireland and Sacred Heart Church, Irvinestown, where 86 airmen who died in the Second World War are laid to rest.
