Princess Anne appeared to honor the enduring legacy of her late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, during the Thailand leg of her official tour of Asia by wearing one of the royal family’s most enduring style signatures, pearls.
The Princess Royal, 75, arrived in Bangkok alongside her husband, Sir Tim Laurence, after completing engagements in South Korea as part of a five-day diplomatic visit focused on strengthening the United Kingdom’s ties with partners across Asia.
While the tour centered on diplomacy, it was Anne’s understated jewelry choice that caught the attention of royal watchers.

For engagements in Bangkok, Princess Anne paired a classic pearl necklace with matching pearl drop earrings while dressed in black to pay her respects to the late Queen Sirikit and Princess Bajrakitiyabha of Thailand.

The late monarch’s appreciation for the gemstone dated back to childhood, when her father, King George V, followed a royal tradition of gifting pearls to his daughters each birthday.
