Queen Camilla stuns in Barbie pink banquet gown and Queen Elizabeth’s necklace – but skips a tiara

Her accessories elevated the look to the next level. She wove a slice of history into her outfit with the bold necklace and earrings from the Kent Demi Amethyst Parure, which were previously worn by Queen Elizabeth, including to a state banquet in Portugal in 1985.

The suite was named for Princess Victoria of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld, Duchess of Kent, who was Queen Victoria’s mother, but Camilla modernised the necklace by removing some of the drop amethysts to suit the neckline of her embroidered gown.

Camilla also sported the Queen Mother‘s Art Deco Cartier Diamond and Ruby Bracelets, which came from a collection of bracelets gifted to the Queen Mother from King George VI for Christmases and birthdays between 1923 and 1925.

Notably absent from Queen Camilla’s state dinner look was a tiara. It is customary for a state banquet in the UK for Camilla to wear a tiara, as she did in September 2025, when President Trump was invited to the UK for a state visit, donning the Belgian Sapphire Tiara. Camilla did not wear one on Tuesday night, despite the dress code being ‘White Tie’, which usually warrants a tiara.

An impactful state dinner look

Of Camilla’s look, Oriona Robb, a luxury stylist with over 20 years of experience in the fashion industry, told us: “Barbie pink is inherently bold, but what makes it work here is the control in the silhouette, the structured bodice and softly flared skirt create elegance and movement, ensuring the colour never tips into overpowering.”

She adds: “There’s also a clear understanding here of how to use colour for presence. In a room full of formalwear, this shade ensures visibility and impact, but the classic cut keeps it grounded in royal tradition. It’s a clever balance of boldness and refinement, a look that feels both regal and quietly fashion-forward.”

Camilla’s US State Visit wardrobe

As far as Camilla’s daytime looks for the State Visit are concerned, the royal has been making a case for light colours. For the state arrival ceremony on the South Lawn of the White House, the royal chose a pale mint green Fiona Clare coat dress.

It was paired with capped-toe pumps by Eliot Zed, a bespoke Philip Treacy hat, and a baguette bag by 33RueMajorelle, as identified by Royal Fashion Police on Instagram. The most sentimental part of the look was the addition of her pearl wedding earrings.

Meanwhile, day two called for a white Anna Valentine coat dress with black stitching, accessorised with the £2,650 ‘Small Dior Toujours Vertical Tote Bag’ by Dior.
