Richard Gere was glowing with pride as he joined his eldest son, Homer Gere, while celebrating Spain’s win against Argentina at the FIFA Men’s World Cup. The veteran actor sported the Spanish team’s bold red jersey behind the scenes of the game, with Homer wrapping an arm around him while clad in blue jeans, a yellow tee and a trucker cap like his dad.
The duo were last seen on the red carpet together back in April 2025 alongside Richard’s wife, Alejandra Silva, with whom he shares his youngest two sons, James and Alexander. Alejandra shared an emotional caption after Spain’s win, along with a series of snaps from the special night at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
“What a privilege to have been able to share this celebration with some of the protagonists of a night that is already part of history,” she wrote. “Behind every victory there are years of effort, discipline, sacrifices and an entire team walking in the same direction.”
“Thank you for your closeness, for the emotion and for representing Spain with so much heart. Congratulations, Champions. It has been unforgettable to be able to live it with you.” Richard and Alejandra have been living in Spain since the end of 2024, with Homer remaining in the US to kickstart his acting career.
The 26-year-old, whom Richard welcomed with his ex-wife, Carey Lowell, is creating buzz in Hollywood thanks to his memorable part in season three of Euphoria, and his upcoming role in the Ryan Murphy-led thriller The Shards.
Richard opened up about watching his son follow in his footsteps and blossom on the screen in Euphoria, sharing with People that he was “proud of him on two levels”.
© Getty Images“One, he’s really good. He really kind of preternaturally knows what he’s doing,” the Pretty Woman star said. “But he’s also handling it really well. He’s a good kid. He’s a really good young man who kind of gets it, and this is not an easy job. Not everyone can function within it. So I think he can stay.”
Richard added that he was excited to see what Homer did next. “I still need to see his second episode of Euphoria, but he has this big thing coming up with Ryan Murphy, and he just finished shooting a film with Oliver Stone. So I can retire now. I’m passing the torch,” he said.
© FX/Disney+The father of three explained that while Homer had an incredible talent for acting, he wasn’t necessarily committing to it as a career just yet. “I don’t think he’s got to make a life choice to commit to this if he’s doing this now,” Richard said. “He’s good at it, and he’s having fun, but he can become a rock climber if he wants to do that.”

“[The advice is] not necessarily related to like the craft, but more like how do you carry yourself, how do you make this work in a positive way,” he said. “Having that kind of sounding board constantly is amazing.”
