Selena Gomez’s mom, Mandy Teefey, has fans dissecting her recent Instagram post that was both heartfelt and bizarre. On Sunday, the 50-year-old shared a gallery of photos and a caption that seemed to have some heavy, emotional undertones about her daughters on social media.
The Wondermind co-founder’s gallery began with a photo of Selena and her 13-year-old sister, Gracie Elliot Teefey. Things got weird in the caption. “My greatest accomplishments, love me or not,” Teefey wrote.
“They are the coolest. I hope one day they will see what a badass I am and love me back as much as I love them. I’m just a mom who never gives up when they throw me in the trash,” Taffey wrote.
She softened the ending, writing, “I tell ya, Mom, you’re doing it wrong. Maybe so, we will see. But no matter what, I got your back.”
The post quickly prompted concern in the comments, with one follower asking, “WTF, Mandy. If you’re having issues with them, you shouldn’t post this on social media.”
Teefey, however, said it was all fun and games, replying, “Girl. It’s a typical mom’s not cool joke. Calm down. Lol.”
The Instagram upload also included a slideshow of memes and inspirational quotes, adding another layer to the puzzle. One image showed a doll sitting inside a trash can with the caption, “Me when I have to run the business I manifested.”

Teefey making headlines is nothing new. While Teefey insisted her latest post was just a joke, it’s far from the first time fans have analyzed her relationship with Selena.
Over the years, the mother-daughter duo has found themselves at the center of public speculation, especially after Selena rekindled her romance with Justin Bieber in 2017.
