Shakira turned a recent stop in New York City into a memorable experience for a special group of young performers. After welcoming Uganda’s famous Ghetto Kids to join her onstage during her U.S. tour, the global superstar spent time showing them around New York City alongside her sons, Milan and Sasha.
The outing came shortly after the children joined Shakira for her signature “She Wolf Walk” before her concert, creating another unforgettable moment in the singer’s ongoing world tour.
Shakira Gives the Ghetto Kids a Day to Remember
The Ghetto Kids, the internationally recognized dance group from Uganda, have built a massive following through their energetic performances and inspiring story. Their appearance with Shakira introduced them to thousands of concertgoers during the singer’s U.S. tour.
Instead of limiting their time together to the stage, Shakira extended the experience by taking the children on a sightseeing adventure through New York City with her own sons, Milan and Sasha. “The @ghettokids_tfug from Uganda have changed our lives. Spending time with them has been magical and has taught us so much! I’m so happy to finally have them here in NY to dance with me at the World Cup Final!!,” she wrote on social media.
Photos and videos shared on social media showed the group enjoying the city’s iconic attractions while spending quality time together away from the spotlight.
Milan and Sasha Join the Fun
Shakira’s sons, Milan and Sasha, were part of the New York outing, continuing the close family bond fans have seen throughout the singer’s recent tour. The brothers have frequently accompanied their mother during major career milestones. Over the past year, they’ve appeared with her at concerts, award shows, and film premieres, often cheering her on from the audience or even sharing the stage.
Shakira has repeatedly described motherhood as her greatest source of strength, and her sons have become familiar faces during many of her public appearances.
The Ghetto Kids’ Special Tour Moment
Before enjoying New York City, the Ghetto Kids participated in one of the most talked-about moments of Shakira’s concerts.
The dancers joined the singer for her signature walk to the stage before performing in Newark, helping energize the crowd ahead of the show. Shakira later shared behind-the-scenes footage on Instagram, calling the experience special as she walked alongside the talented young performers and guest Wyclef Jean.
“Walking to stage with the Ghetto Kids from Uganda, having Wyclef as my guest, and the incredible crowd from New Jersey, made the most magical night,” she wrote on Instagram.
