The 2026 FIFA World Cup is making history in more ways than one. For the first time in history matched will be held in three different countries, but fans are taking it even further, and the football fever is spreading quickly across Central America. El Salvador is the latest nation to join in the celebration, especially after the release of “Dai Dai,” the official song for this year’s sporting event.

Colombian superstar Shakira and Nigerian music icon Burna Boy have sparked a movement, and now fans have been sharing dance videos on social media, recreating choreography, and taking part in a challenge that could take them to perform along with the Latina star.

Shakira announced she was holding a contest, so people from around the globe could create their own version of the “Dai Dai” dance. The prize is a chance to join the singer on stage during the World Cup final show in 2026.

In El Salvador, the response has been nothing short of amazing. A group of nine professional Salvadoran dancers recently came together for a choreographed performance filmed at Estadio Cuscatlán, the country’s most famous football venue. Known as the home of Salvadoran football, the stadium was the perfect setting for a production that combined sport, culture, music, and national pride.

The performance captured the lively energy of the “Dai Dai” challenge while showcasing one of El Salvador’s most recognizable landmarks. The dancers recreated the viral choreography that has gained millions of views online.

According to Infobae, Aisha McPherson gathered some of the country’s top dancers to create a video that celebrates both the World Cup spirit and Salvadoran identity. The production quickly gained attention online, earning praise for its creativity, professionalism, and genuine representation of El Salvador’s love for football and dance.

Shakira and her team will be selecting performers who can capture the song’s celebratory spirit.

To boost their chances of being chosen, participants should focus on creativity and originality, mastering the choreography, enthusiasm, cultural pride, and genuine joy. Shakira has stressed the importance of showcasing individuality instead of aiming for perfection.

The official music video for “Dai Dai,” features major football stars who will be playing in this World Cup., and also includes tributes to legendary figures such as the late Diego Armando Maradona, alongside football icons such as Pelé, Kaká, and Ronaldo Nazario.

In the video, Shakira is seen singing in the iconic Maracanã Stadium in Brazil and an African landscape featuring the region’s signature baobab trees. The Angel of Independence, the winged victory statue located in Mexico City, is also featured.

The 2026 World Cup kicks off on Thursday, June 11, 2026, with the opening match between Mexico and South Africa at the Mexico City Stadium in Mexico City, and wraps up on Sunday, July 19, 2026, in the United States.
