Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce chose to do things their own way on their wedding day. Rather than following tradition with bridesmaids and groomsmen, the newlyweds gave two of the most important roles to their siblings during their lavish ceremony at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday.
Taylor asked her younger brother, Austin Swift, to stand by her side as her “man of honour”, while Travis chose his older brother, Jason Kelce, to serve as his best man.
The heartfelt decision reflected the close bond both stars share with their families and marked one of the most personal touches of their star-studded celebration.
Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony
In another surprise, longtime friend Adam Sandler officiated the couple’s wedding.
The actor recently shared the screen with Travis in Happy Gilmore 2, and his role in the ceremony is sure to delight fans who have followed the pair’s growing friendship.
While official wedding photographs have yet to be released, details of the couple’s fashion choices have begun to emerge.
Taylor’s bridal look made fashion history
Taylor reportedly wore a bespoke Christian Dior Haute Couture wedding gown designed by Jonathan Anderson, while Travis also chose a custom Dior ensemble created by the acclaimed designer.
The looks were created in close collaboration with the bride and groom, making the occasion particularly significant for Anderson. Taylor’s gown is believed to be his first couture wedding dress designed for a globally recognised celebrity since taking over as Dior’s creative director for the women’s, men’s and haute couture collections.
Both Taylor and Travis completed their looks with bespoke Christian Louboutin shoes.
The Grammy-winning singer added Cartier jewellery to her bridal ensemble, alongside the custom engagement ring Travis helped design with Artifex Fine Jewelry’s Kindred Lubeck.
A celebration filled with personal touches
The wedding brought together around 1,000 family members and celebrity friends for what has become one of the biggest events of the year.
But despite the glamorous guest list and couture fashion, it was the couple’s decision to honour their siblings, and to invite a close friend to officiate, that gave the ceremony its most meaningful moments.
After nearly two years together, Taylor and Travis proved that while their wedding was spectacular in scale, family remained firmly at the heart of their celebration.
